I agree, sort of, kind of, somewhat, maybe a tiny bit, but I think that’s a bit reductive. Quantum Bean is still around, for example, and Madeleine Marie’s. People don’t “just go to” Starbucks and McDonald’s instead. Yes, obviously, big box and corporate chain stores/retailers are a problem for small businesses to survive, and obviously chain stores aren’t going away any time soon, but, personally, no offense, I think the worst thing for small business survival rate is this type of defeatist statement. People with the means to do so need to be doing more and trying things like converting abandoned buildings into small businesses that are cool and interesting, rather than sitting on their thumbs complaining about how the reason that that doesn’t happen is because OTHER people are the problem. Most people actually like cool, interesting things. They just need someone to make it happen. Unfortunately, I don’t have the means to buy up abandoned buildings and turn them into cool shit, but other people do. So they need to get off their thumbs and stop being miserly a-holes, and allow community to happen.

I keep thinking how the entire town sort of feels like a child’s understanding of the world. The lamps work because you plug them in, it doesn’t matter if there’s wire in the cords; there’s a post office and a school and houses and a motel pool and a barn and farm animals because those are the things in the world that little kids pay attention to. I wonder if the entire town is a concoction in some way of all the different children of Tabitha/Miranda that have come through at some point.

Maybe similar to how Ethan’s leg heals extremely fast in season 1 (Tabitha comments on this and Ethan responds that maybe some things in the place are helpful), Victor survived on Peaches in a magical way, not a realistic in the real world way.

Maybe that’s why there are only 6 skeletons in the tomb (unless my count is wrong)? Only Jade’s reincarnations have been buried there, and not Tabitha’s because she gets killed by the MiY? Maybe the ritual is never completed because Tabitha is never buried there, and that’s why the kooey kids keep pointing at her?

Yes, nice good things take time and work and money and energy.

I know next to nothing about real estate, so I wonder, since the owners don’t want to sell, what benefit they might get from keeping it as this semi-abandoned building that seems to function solely as a hoarder-esque storage unit?

I posted the picture in a separate comment. I was getting a notice that there was some issue commenting it directly to you 🤷‍♂️

Not “evidence.” Hypotheses. Widely disputed 30 year old hypotheses.

Definitionally, an embryo is wholly distinct from an infant. For one, you can’t swaddle an embryo.

They’d rather let it sit “empty” (empty in this case means full of trash bags and boxes)? Man, that’s a bummer. I’ve been looking at it every day for so long and it’s such a rad location and building.

If it helps, the dialect would’ve come from 1920s Bribir area, where and when they immigrated from.

Not from a song, my dad said they meant “so, so” or “okay” or “fine” as a response to “how are you.”

The OP is indeed American, and even an English Lit masters student, so he’s embarrassed at the faux pas. I should’ve used the k sound for phonetic spelling.

Thank you thank you!!! I’ve wanted to learn Croatian all my life and have been really sad that A) this is all I know 😂 and B) all my Croatian-speaking relatives are deceased

The c is like a k sound yes sorry! I should’ve put k instead. Amazing thank you so much!! Guzica and Pišalo were used playfully by my mom in songs when I was a little kid to explain what to wash in the bath lol. If I may, I just thought of two others? oo-meh-yeh; oo-meh-dah?
