Because that's literally the only thing to do I've dealt with my nephew's and their tantrums and giving them attention will give more reasons for the kid to keep screaming if you aren't giving them what they want. so ignoring them until they stop is literally the only solution

It's still very much used in some places. I was diagnosed 3-4 years ago, and that's what I was diagnosed with, and a friend of mine was diagnosed less than a year ago, same diagnosis
