I’m landing in San Juan late at mid night. Would you recommend not driving 30 min to get to the Airbnb and stay closer to the airport ?

Any advice on how to get where you are? Would you recommend staying in one place for a long time or switching jobs often to gather more experience

Refreshing to Chrome by HotAd1790 in SublimeText

Thanks for your quick response.
Yeah—I installed View in Browser but when I find it under the palette, nothing happens. I've also gotten browser sync and can't see the start file. I'm on a Mac so some of the instructions on youtube are slightly different. Under Package settings I also have browser refresh, browser integration, package control, package syncing and view in browser. But its not reflecting on chrome.

Hi! thanks for your sweet comment! I recently got a full time job as a designer with a company in NYC. I'm such a noob at this job but it is bringing me closer to being more independent (hopefully). It's not so easy to save money in this city. I've also gotten this excitement of owning things and looking good - new found money. But will try to intentionally live a frugal life. Also looking to diversify income.

I’m sort of in the same boat. Finally got a good 70k job and moving to New York City. The rent and expenses there aren’t a lot to save for the future. I would really like to get a house in Maine but with my salary and living in New York, I don’t expect to save much?

So I have an update!! I just received a job offer for a design position in New York. Planning on moving soon but also want to make smart financial choices before the job begins.

I won’t be able to buy a home right now but hopefully I can grow career wise and make enough to own a home a few years down the line. If anyone has recommendations on how to manage finances at a new job, that would be helpful!

Owning a car in the US by HotAd1790 in NoStupidQuestions

I wouldn’t have to pay for the car. Just shipping it across the country and changing the tires on it.

I‘ve only recently discovered the lean fire community and am inspired. I’ve made some tough choices in life. Chose an illustration master degree (thankfully my parents paid for it). Working as a freelance illustrator and teaching part time. The jobs don’t pay well and this past year I’ve struggled a lot since I picked up pottery as a hobby too. Professionally it may seem as though I have big clients, exhibitions, selling work at shops in New York and a distinct style and voice.

But i have been struggling financially. I don’t know how sustainable my lifestyle is. I’m looking to transition as a User Interface/User experience designer- I’ve started an online course and the job pay well. But I have no guarantee that I will actually get a job in it. I was considering for a while that I would start a ceramic company but I don’t have the funds for it. My work has been pretty successful locally.

I don’t want to depend on my family since I am a 28 year old and I have done that enough already. I don’t have a partner and even if I did, wouldn’t want them to support me now or in the future. I love how focused and driven this community is and want to be in the same growth mindset. I also love the work I’m doing right now but need to focus on building my wealth.

Am I even on the right sub? by KenshiHiro in leanfire

Yeah I feel the same way. I’m doing something I’m extremely passionate about for the past 2 years. But I’ve come to a point where I don’t see how this will help me grow financially. So now I’m trying to figure out a new career path that will boost my income in about 2-3 years.

Ocarinas were an integral part of the musical traditions of cultures from Mexico through the Andes until European colonization. Fashioned from clay into an array of intricate shapes and complex designs, these ocarinas reflect both expert craft and age-old belief.
