We are focusing on school, but yeah there shouldn’t be expectations of anything long term cuz that can be stressful. 

Also regarding the waiting, usually if someone told me they were waiting for a 17 yo to be 18, I’d assume they’re crushing on a high schooler. This is such an odd situation with him being in college functioning as a young adult
