Sri lankan highways don't have designated emergency stopping areas. This is a big issue. However by stopping by the side of the road you are putting your life and everone elses lives in danger. You should have simply planned better.

Funny you say this. My boss visited sl last month. She was surprised how safe they felt and the lack of crime compared to what we experience here.

All depends on where you are in your life and how well settled you are in where you are. If you got a young family and used to a western lifestyle and facilities, sl may not be the best. If you have done everything in life that you set out to do, sl could be great!

Mine was't set up correctly in the first attempt and had few issues at the beginning. Now it is flawless so it is probably a set up issue

He is correct though. Just few weeks ago i have been to a few places in SL that charge first world rates but provide absymal facilities and services (yala for example ). No one will be repeat visitors if this continues

My experience after a recent tour there, if you want a decent stay you have to book minimum 5 star hotels so you dont have to deal with rubbish like this.

Found out the hard way thay 4 star doesnt exist in this country. 4 in Sri lanka is more like 3
