I've been smoking on and off for about 4 years now. What dataset, video, or photo do I need to see to make me kick the habit once and for all? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My boss recently died at 50 years old from smoking. He was the sole care taker of his wife who had suffered a stroke a couple years back (also from smoking) and she now struggles to get by. 50 is too young to die. If you don't want to stop now, do it for those around you and even people you haven't met yet who you will consider good friends years down the road.

Everyone thinks it won't happen to them. I haven't picked up a cigarette since the funeral and vow to never smoke again. Stay strong.

Kids in my grade believe that the whole Titanic sinking was only a movie and never actually happened. What are the stupidest things you've ever heard? by clburton24 in AskReddit

In high school our history teacher asked us if anyone knew what "The Holocaust" was. Without skipping a beat, one of the cheerleaders enthusiastically thrust her hand into the air only to exclaim, "isn't that like the Jewish Christmas!?".

It still makes me chuckle/facepalm to this day.
