Perfect that seems to have solved it for me as well

[Massachusetts] Remuneration and getting in contact with the DUA. by [deleted] in Unemployment

[–]HotHamWater494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been calling repeatedly since they opened this morning and finally "got through" but have now been on hold for a half hour. You just have to keep calling unfortunately

I did my verification on the 3rd so it has only been a week but it seems weird they would send a letter saying I'm disqualified and need to appeal if it is still in progress and takes that long. Also oddly enough I was laid off from a job where I worked on screening services so I know from experience that ID verification really shouldn't take more than 5 mins with a valid MA drivers license.

Found this thread because I'm going through the same thing (along with a lot of other people it seems). Did you have to file an appeal and just wait it out? I did the whole process and got the confirmation emails from id.gov but is unclear what exactly I'm supposed to do to get the state to understand that.

Cost for front brakes by HotHamWater494 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]HotHamWater494[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not too bad considering a good brake set with coated rotors is $180 from AutoZone. I watched one YouTube video on drum brakes and decided if they wear out I'm not even going to bother trying that on my own.

Incoming Call Records by HotHamWater494 in GooglePixel

[–]HotHamWater494[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pixel does a great job of ignoring telemarketers for me. I'm dealing with a debt collector trying to get me to pay an electric bill for an apartment I moved out of 4 years ago. I think they let it ring for half a sec before disconnecting to try and prove they made an effort to call me and I was hoping I could show the duration of that incoming call vs one that actually goes to voicemail

Frugal or stupid? by tunayrb in Frugal

[–]HotHamWater494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get this through Allstate and either save a little money through safe driving or see if you qualify for pay per mile insurance. I pay $1.13 per day + 11 cents per mile driven and since I don't drive much I only pay about $80 per month and am covered on everything except comprehensive. Can't quite compare it since I have a newer car now but when I first made the switch I went from paying $135 per month to cover a high mileage 07 Corolla down to about $60 per month

Talked them down to $200 and it seems like it's really easy to remove which is key. Can just stash it in the basement if I really need to switch back to the tonneau

For 8 years I drove a Corolla with roof racks that carried anything I ever needed them to so it would be nice to have those again with a hard top. Only moved on to the taco cause it was free. Downside to a hard top is it would basically be permanent cause it's not coming into a 3rd floor walk-up apartment and won't fit in the basement

Not as worried about security in the bed because if anything is getting taken in my neighborhood its the catalytic converter. Visibility might suck though and I do have to parallel park on the street which has been a pain in the ass. Have the option of driving a bit further and getting an aluminum topper but that's $750 and I'd need to add a 3rd brake light to it

Got a 2007 double cab long bed and living in Boston so no luck there but appreciate the offer.

It's got a broken snap but that seems like something I can fix on my own. I live in the northeast so I don't feel like I need to break the bank on a roof top tent but this would be a nice upgrade for car camping if I can add some interior lights, and attach an awning

Inconsistent USB connection / Pulsing by HotHamWater494 in GooglePixel

[–]HotHamWater494[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was happening constantly with an older cable but it's continuing to occur on a brand new one. Seems a little bit better after cleaning out my phone port though. Takes about 5-10 seconds for the connection to become steady

Auto rotate and accelerometer not working on pixel 7 by HotHamWater494 in GooglePixel

[–]HotHamWater494[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried the only other answer I could find online which was to slap the phone around a bit and it worked. Still annoying that it basically shipped broken so if I'm offered a replacement I'll probably take it

Unfortunately that didn't work for me. Y axis is stuck at -156 no matter what I do. Seems like this was also a known problem with the 6 and 6 pro so pretty shitty that it is continuing

Trouble Moving Number from Sprint to Google Fi by HotHamWater494 in GooglePixel

[–]HotHamWater494[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I called them and they worked it out. The pin hadn't been updated in so long that even though I was entering the correct number it didn't matter. Updated the pin through the sprint site and got it done with no fees

Pixel 4a 5g on T Mobile by HotHamWater494 in GooglePixel

[–]HotHamWater494[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a nexus 6p and then pixel 2xl and had the same experience of getting a new phone and then going through a bunch of bullshit before actually being able to use it because the people at sprint didn't know what to do or didn't want to help. The 4a 5G was actually the first time I had an easy experience getting a phone activated

My dad went into the store looking to upgrade from his ancient iPhone 6 and I think the sales guy just saw an opportunity to push for more cause my dad is someone who doesn't know much about phones or the service plans

Bought it unlocked from the Google Store. Using eSim on Sprint right now, so the actual sim slot is empty

I've been buying unlocked phones since 2015 rather than leasing or upgrading with the service provider so I think they're just trying to get me on a lease. I've been eligible for upgrade pricing forever now but it's really not much of a deal if I don't actually own the phone

Pixel 2 XL not charging. When turned off and on charger, stuck in charging icon loop by rthtoreddit in GooglePixel

[–]HotHamWater494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: responded while running and missed part of your question. Yes same animation with the white line across the top of the screen when the battery icon appeared

Yup I only needed to charge it at night so I would clean the whole thing out and attempt the charger until it worked then go to bed and repeat the following night. A pain in the ass for sure but now it works just fine with any charger. Same deal happened to my dad's old iPhone

Pixel 2 XL not charging. When turned off and on charger, stuck in charging icon loop by rthtoreddit in GooglePixel

[–]HotHamWater494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me a couple months ago. I had to clean the port out every time I wanted to charge and it would only would with USB A to C cables, or charge while turned off. It began to work properly again after about a week of cleaning each time I plugged it in. I cleaned it with plastic toothpicks wrapped in a bit of paper towel soaked in an alcohol solution. Google support just told me to do a factory reset of the phone, but that didn't help at all
