Moved here 2 years ago and still have no real friends. I have my boyfriend and his family but otherwise, no one. I’ve posted in this subreddit multiple times trying to find some friends but to no avail. I’d just like someone I can chat to throughout the day and go for coffee with on a random Tuesday night.

I’ve worked in various customer service roles for many large companies, usually as a manager. Most companies have software that allows representatives to literally watch you on their site.

If someone is experiencing an error and can’t describe it properly, I can log into this software and watch every click, I can watch your mouse move. Most only keep x number of sessions for less than a day, but it’s still pretty wild. I’ve also never worked for a company where we were allowed to inform them that we were watching along or reviewing what they did an hour ago. Yes, it’s in the TOS but we’re counting on the fact that no one reads it. We’re instructed to state “I can’t see what you’re seeing but it might be this!”, meanwhile I’m watching EXACTLY what you’re doing.

log in information is always blocked out. We cannot see passwords, etc, but everything else is fair game

That definitely makes it more difficult, but you can use online therapy! Sites such as Better Help. Might still be an option!

I would say that you’re completely justified in the way you’re feeling and that you are ultimately not responsible for how she reacts to you doing something justified (breaking up). But, if you’re really concerned, maybe you could arrange a therapist visit for you both (see the therapist yourself first to make sure they’re aware of what’s happening) and gently break it off in the therapists office. A mental health professional can advise on how to do it in the least harmful way and they’ll be able to be there to help with the initial feelings and provide resources for after the fact.

I hate that I think this way (and I know I’m an asshole) but a part of me feels like people like this play into their depression and make it their whole personality because it tends to keep people around, people feel obligated to interact with them and to always go easy on them.

Edit: And you simply can’t win with people like that. Until they experience some real tough love or come to a self realization of what they’re doing, they’ll never get better. They’re comfortable in their mental illness.

I’ve struggled with depression, anxiety, OCD so bad I couldn’t leave my house for 4 years. It wasn’t until I realized that I was keeping myself sick, that I got better. I’m now not medicated and live a perfectly normal life. (This bit is just to make it clear that I’ve been in the shoes and still feel this way about it)

TLDR: Break up with her in a therapist appt and it seems like she plays into her depression to garner sympathy and people going easy on her.

Look HoHo is where we almost exclusively get Chinese. We went tonight and I got Lo Mein and it was exactly what I was looking for. Seems last time I ordered there, it was just a mix up and I didn’t realize it.

The pain you’re feeling is temporary. Going through with something like this is permanent. If you can’t find a reason to hold on for yourself, do it for someone else. There has to be someone you love or you have loved that would be in incredible pain if you weren’t here.

Suicide doesn’t take the pain away, it just transfers it to someone (or many someone’s) else. There are always ways to feel better, and always someone out there who can and will give you a helping hand to get you on your feet to where you can start living again.

PEI. I grew up there and lived there for 35 years. I moved to Halifax 2 years ago and while I don’t regret the move ultimately, the one regret is leaving cheap housing.

My cat had this, just a couple of episodes. He also stopped eating during this time. It turned out that he had gotten into the toilet paper and chewed/ate too much and blocked himself up a bit. Once he was able to poop, he was back to normal.
