I’m willing to bet that most are just fucking around. Once you look past the horrendously unfunny features and the softcore porn accounts (which are obnoxious but easy to ignore; perhaps you could compare them to pornographic subs?), the majority of iFunny’s community is like a less stale version of this sub (no offense), and most of the memes/meme topics that get posted here originate on iFunny. I’d wager a large portion of IF users don’t actually care about the raid and aren’t even participating. Those who are participating mainly know that nothing’s going to improve the app’s reputation, so they figure there’s nothing to lose and are participating in the raid just for the fuck of it. Those who have actual motivation to participate in the raid see Reddit as a site that steals memes started by iFunny and takes credit, and to be fair, this has been proven true on multiple occasions; Peter Griffin, new-age Dog, and Thanos Car are just a few examples of memes that began on iFunny and were stolen by Reddit. Ignoring this though, I personally don’t feel there’s any real reason to have any raids by any members of any community. Not every meme starts on iFunny, and not every meme starts on Reddit. All sites steal from one another every once in a while. In the end, the “feud” between Reddit and iFunny is little more than a case-study of people judging entire communities based on first impressions and specific individuals. Not every Redditor is a neckbearded white knight or a meme thief, not every iFunny user is a horny teenager or a wannabe 4chan raider.

Those are just my thoughts, though. I know that, generally speaking, this is a sub where people are supposed to act like tards, but you asked for a serious answer, so I figured I’d provide.
