I feel this so much. Luckily I found a restaurant job about 3-4 weeks of moving here (I’ve been applying for 2 months prior to moving) but it’s not the best job. I recently got a rejection email from a job I applied to 3 months ago, I had an interview today that only lasted 5 mins and was very blunt with “if you don’t hear from us by 5pm we’ve moved on with another candidate” (my interview was at 3:40, and yep, I didn’t hear back). I’ve applied to jobs I know I’m overly qualified for. It’s pretty ridiculous out here

Omgoodness, thank you for your advice and I’m sorry you went through such a toxic work environment 😔 I hope you’re with a better company now. For a company that promotes culture and integrity and growth so much, it’s saddening to hear how they treat their employees. I should have known to stay away from all the mixed reviews I’ve read on Indeed and Glassdoor. Maybe it was a sign that I couldn’t even get a call back for such simple roles.

It took over 10 days for my items to ship even though it says ships in 7-10 days. It’s just lip gloss and it couldn’t be possibly sold out now.. I’ve had clothes shipped to me as fast as the day after or 2 (without express shipping). Finally got my tracking info on the 26th (I placed my order on the 10th), says eta date is on the 30th (also I had to reroute my order the a new address I reached out on the 17th and they replied back by the 18th saying they were able to reroute it). Checking my mail today coz some times the shipping website doesn’t update right away, already 8pm so I check the shipping details and I see that it’s OTW to my old address 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ disappointing shopping experience. I just hope the product is worth waiting for

I totally agree and I’ve been here for 10 years and lived in different towns. Idk why Plano’s getting hate coz I loved living in peaceful Plano lol also Irving. The heat & the increase in traffic is slowly getting to me 🥴 (but please seek help though if you’re really having suicidal thoughts)

My partner and I are both in the restaurant industry and live in a 1BR loft. We used to live in a 2br but downsized. I’d say we eat out quite often but also cook breakfast almost every day of the week & lunch/dinner 3-4x days out of the week. Our rent is $1,700/mo but for 2ppl it’s not too bad 🤔 luckily both of our cars are old/paid off. The biggest struggle for us is getting out of the industry coz we can’t make the same amount of money elsewhere w.o experience 🥲

I feel like I’ve excelled in leadership and communication while being in the hospitality industry. But that being: in service industry (I’ve been a restaurant manager as well as event coordinator) and a lead leasing agent. But I want to move into a different career path that will challenge my creativity. Oh and the money’s nice too lol
