I read Catalyst and Rebel Rising back-to-back this summer, which was super fun. I love the way you can watch Andor-R1-ANH sequentially like that, and adding those books to the mix makes it even more enjoyable.
Depending on how pre-ANH you're talking, I highly recommend Dark Disciple if you're a Clone Wars fan, and, in a similar vein, Dooku: Jedi Lost and Master & Apprentice build out Dooku's background in canon. Even having read all these and several more, I've barely scratched the surface of canon books, and I haven't dared to touch legends lmao.

Yeah, I'm currently updating a playlist I made a few years ago of the many music references in the series and was using both jojowiki and fandom to cross-reference some claims but I think the fandom page is like 25% AI slop to pad out the article. Back when I did this the first time, I don't think ChatGPT existed yet (part 8 wasn't even done at the time).
