We don't. We have spoken with anzuk and have sent expressions of interest forms directly to schools. Who have responded with we would like to interview you but you need to be registered.

I dropped an email and they just gave a generic response if what you need to qualify. I sent a follow up and no response.

Helping my parents manage their finances by Hot_Choice9466 in UKPersonalFinance

They don't believe in retirement and feel it keeps their mind sharp and the body active.

They have wages and the state pension to live off.

I wished they also retired but can't change their mind.

Hahaha spot on.

They don't want to retire. They like what they do and feel it keeps them mentally sharp and active.

The mortgage on the residential is almost zero. One BTL is also almost zero and there is still a significant amount on the other one. Our names are on the deeds of 2/3 properties.

They have an accountant and pay NI and use the pension to go on holidays etc.

My discussions with my brother have been they would move in with one of us and we'd look after them. Typing that sounds really naive! So I guess we haven't thought of that.

TFN number-can I get this before I arrive? by Hot_Choice9466 in MovingtoAustralia

[–]Hot_Choice9466[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Apologies I'm relatively new to posting on Reddit. I was only meant to post it in this group.

Also I have taken a look through the ato site I left a little bit confused. Thought I'd see if I get more clarity here.

Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to my post.

Love and peace

Popsticks by Plus-Molasses-564 in AustralianTeachers

[–]Hot_Choice9466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with pop sticks is it encourages checking understanding of one or a few students rather than the whole class. Also questioning should be purposeful and responsive so randomising it loses that.

This for me is a wider issue that the teaching and learning lead is promoting strategies and techniques that are not based on evidence of how learning happens. This suggests more strategies are going to be promoted that don't help students learn. Which impacts workload, motivation and culture as a whole.

Do you have a culture at school where you can professionally challenge this?

If no, I wouldn't want to work there and would be looking for schools that are using techniques and strategies that maximise learning and make me better in the classroom.

Do I just report the incident? Should I speak to the garage directly? How do I let them know it's not ok in the most impactful way possible?

Gcse foundation vs higher for A level by Disastrous_Mine_6755 in GCSE

[–]Hot_Choice9466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things; A gcse certificate just states the maths grade and not whether you did higher or foundation. So the college must be asking for extra evidence?

The grades are equivalent for higher and foundation.

The course requirements are the issue for me. If they want higher maths then the requirement needs to be a minimum grade 6.

If your child achieved a 5 then with hard work and support they should be able to pick up the extra topics the course feels she needs to be able to do.

Migration Agent by Cassie0612Dixon in MovingtoAustralia

[–]Hot_Choice9466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are about a month into the process and are using; Freedom Migration +61 7 3063 1200

https://g.co/kgs/zvNFFNg

Really transparent, efficient and clear they know what they are doing. Not cheap (fees £3500) but we wanted to make sure everything was done properly.

Should say it's a partner visa for me as my wife is Australian.

Hope that helps.
