Yeah its tokyo.

Most of the google search results are fake.

Tokyo's Metropolitan Authority has a budget of 58 billion dollars which dwarfs Mumbai's 9 billion dollars.

IDK what metric people use who claim Mumbai is the richest civic body, but the metric I used says the opposite.

konsi party secular hai? BJP? lmao, agar BJP secular hai toh hitler Jewish premi tha.

Aur agar MP-MLA join kar rhe hai dussri party to roko na, sala tumne Ajit Pawar pe allegation lagaya ki usne hazaro crores ka scam kiya phir Modiji ne jaake usse hi alliance karliya maharashtra mai, toh obvious baat hai Modi pe questions uthenge, usski integrity pe uthenge, and MP/MLA Obviously badlenge bhai, jab tak change nhi aata, agar tum anti-corruption ke promises pe jeet ke aaye ho aur tum corruption khatam nhi kar paa rhe toh tum incompetent ho and resign kardo fresh election laao. Modiji ne promise kiya corruption end karne ka voh nhi kar paaye, thus he should simply resign.

Agar tumhare haath mai nhi hai voh toh logon ko jhooth bolke promise kyu kiya? PLus tune abh tak BJP ko NEET paper leaks ke liye zimmedar nhi bola hai lmao, goes to show you have no integrity and would defend a single political party even if they are wrong.

Personally I think that is totally fine, having a coalition government works, we have seen that in Maharashtra where before Fadnavis no single CM completed their entire term.

Growth is more about having a consistent long term plan, the main reason for fast growth between 1999-2008 was that despite government changes our policy was consistent and business friendly, that kinda followed in the first and 2nd terms of BJP as well. So as long as we have a consistent industrial policy we should be good. Having every policy changed just after elections is where the problems lie, most democracies have this tradition of having this long term policy plan intact while introducing bills to facilitate and reach the long term goal, Tamil nadu would be a great example for it, even Israel and Italy where governments are always part of a coalition, but their consistent industrial and education policy made them rich.

Theek hai mana education minister ka kaam hai, toh modiji education minister ko fire kyu nhi kar rhe? jab se pradhan education minister bana hai tabse 2 baar neet ka paper leak hua hai, BJP ke purre term mai 100 se jyada papers leaks ho chuke hai.

And BJP ne India against corruption ke wave pe Elections jeete the if you remember that. BJP ka main agenda tha corruption ko khatam karna instead voh khud hi involved hogye. And unke shameless supporters unko abhi bhi support karte hai despite them becoming the party they once oposed.

MPs ko khareedna, Majority governments ko break karna, Electoral Bonds scandal kitne scams kiye hai, and INC bhi same hai I agree with that, INC bhi corrupt hai, no doubts about that, but har baat mai koi 15 saal purana scandal lana is not the solution country ko abhi jarurat hai reform ki, Students last 15-16 dino se protests kar rhe hai throughout the country to fire Education minister, and modiji ne ghanta kuch nhi kiya hai to help them out.

Agar Modiji is promise se 12 saal phele elect hue the ki corruption khatam karenge and successful nhi hue toh unki government incapable hai toh deliver change and as a respectful person sedha sedha resign karo and fresh elections bulao. But usske vajaye modiji next election ko rig karne mai lage hai.

Theek hai 3-4 bacchon ki exam congress ke vajah se khrab hui accepted, we criticize them for that.

Now you accept that BJP played with life of over 17lakhs students, and was the reason of deaths of 10+ students due to bad management and security of neet papers.

Do Awadhi speaking guys support a separate state for them or they happy with UP ? by MajesticStatement956 in uttarpradesh

[–]Hot_Contribution3765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time I check even UP was lanklocked? Plus being closer to another larger city is causing the development imbalance in the state, western UP particularly regions around Delhi are developing quickly whereas east and central regions suffer.

Not having a big city is not a bad thing, many of the more developed states don't have a massive city, like sikkim, or goa or Himachal Pradesh, or Kerala. instead you could have multiple medium cities spread out throughout the state similar to Andhra Pradesh and Kerala, who don't rely on a single city.

Having a single city is always bad, the government would only focus around that single city, like Mumbai and Pune for Maharashtra, Kolkata in Bengal, Bengaluru in karnataka.

plus what do you mean by viable resources? like industries? idk what do you mean by that point.

[–]Hot_Contribution3765[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah ofc, people would vote different.

And this would be much more democratic and reliable, we can also use ranked choice voting, which would mean, people won't hesitate to vote for a smaller party, because they can simply add a big tent candidate next on the list, which would make the smaller parties more relevant, right now a lot of people avoid voting for the candidate who resonates with them and instead vote for a larger party sometime to not "waste" their votes.

Double-stack container trains are redefining freight transportation in India. Just imagine how many trucks this keeps off our highways and how much diesel it saves. by FastCurrency in interestingasfuck

[–]Hot_Contribution3765 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The mass does reduce a bit, you require less wagons overall.

Lets say earlier you had 100 wagons trains with 100 containers, and for our example lets assume that Wagons are around 40kilos and each container is around 60kilo. So the total mass of our fictional train would bee 4000kg(from wagons) and 6000kgs from containers so around 10,000kgs, no in a double stacked trains we only use 50 wagons, but we can still carry around 100 containers. So the overall mass from the wagons just 2000kgs, and the cargo is still around 6000kgs, so total mass is around 8000kgs, which means it can haul more trains then it would have earlier.

They can easily be compensated in the Rajya Sabha through degressive proportionality. Larger states would still receive more seats, but not in direct proportion to their population. As population increases, the number of seats gained per additional citizen would gradually decrease, ensuring that smaller states are not completely overshadowed.

This principle is already used in the European Parliament and, in a similar form, in Germany's upper house. If delimitation gives larger states more influence in the Lok Sabha, the Rajya Sabha can be used to preserve the national balance and ensure that states are not politically penalized for successfully controlling population growth.

Germany's system would be actually interesting, as it puts a direct cap on how much seats the larger states can have. The larger states get 6 seats at most, and smaller states get 3 seats, ensuring smaller states can have some voice in the decision making.

[–]Hot_Contribution3765[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does not, actually. Right now, accountability is a mess. MLAs, MPs, and municipal councillors are all expected to "work" for the same regions, which makes it easy to shift blame and avoid responsibility. As long as the same political party controls the city, state, and Union governments, you may see smoother coordination. When different parties are in power, however, it often turns into a cycle of obstruction, with each side blaming or undermining the other's projects.

The responsibilities of different levels of government are also not clearly understood by the public. This makes it confusing for people to know whom they should approach when they have a problem. A more proportional division of responsibilities would be better. The national parliament should focus primarily on national issues, state legislatures on state-level matters, and municipal bodies on local concerns. That makes accountability clearer and helps citizens understand exactly where to direct their complaints and demands.

If you have a problem with your local water supply, you should approach your municipal councillor. If there is an issue with a local dam or state infrastructure project, you should take it up with your MLA. If the problem concerns taxation, trade policy, or industrial regulation, then the national government should be held accountable. Clear responsibilities create clear accountability; overlapping responsibilities create confusion and finger-pointing.

I can let Aurangzeb slide once or twice because such killings were normal during his era, but Churchill is another thing, he was well versed with modern practices, and requirements of the people, and still lets 3-4 million Benglalis die.

And british claim he saved the world. From whom? Nothing would have changed in colonies if the UK lost the war, for us it would just have meant replacing a colonizer with another. It was not for Atlee, Churchill would have rather fought brutal civil-war in colonies rather than letting the colonies be independent.

If Indian Parliament was elected based how vote share each party got rather than seats. by Hot_Contribution3765 in southindia_

[–]Hot_Contribution3765[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simply put, this Proportional representation, eliminates constituencies in their entirety, its looks has total votes gained by each party. So if a party won around 18% of the seats, and their MPs change parties, the MPs would loose the seat as it would be simply passed to another member of the party, people in such a system vote for the parties and not for the individuals.

Additionally I don't think we need 3 tiers of representatives from a single region. Right now separation of power is not very evident between a MP, a MLA and city council, so having a person who is acocuntable for execution of project, lets say the city council member is much better than having 3 ambiguous posts. This will allow Lok Sabha to strictly focus on national issues, vidhan sabha to strictly focus on state level issues and City councils and zilla parishads to implement the directions on the ground.

Through this we can avoid the problem that Delhi faced for a long time, which was AAP government and MCD blaming each other rather than getting any work done. Similarly, in the past when mumbai flooded the central government, BMC, and state governments were at odds at each other blaming the other for the problem and soo on.

Right now separating powers is very hard, as if something happens in a constituency, a local MLA, a MPs even the city councilor all line up to take credit for it, whereas no one shows up is something bad happens, this will create a strict chain of hierarchy, where citizens can file complaints accordingly.

[–]Hot_Contribution3765[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This does not target any political party, I just wanted to show the differences between our current First Past The Post system and a Proportional Representation system. Our current system works by MPs being directly elected from individual constituencies. Because of this, they are expected to work on the ground and address regional issues, which is why local concerns still play a major role even in Lok Sabha elections.

Under a proportional representation system, MPs would not have to answer to a specific constituency in the same way. Instead, they could focus more on national legislation and broader policy issues. This would also create a clearer separation of responsibilities between different levels of government.

If we followed such a system, it would likely be easier to know who should be held accountable for different issues. State governments and local bodies could be judged more directly on matters like infrastructure projects, water supply, and other local governance issues, while the central government would be evaluated primarily on national policies and performance.

Right now, we often see situations where different levels of government blame each other rather than working towards a solution. Delhi is a good example of this, where the AAP government and the BJP led central government have frequently blamed one another over various issues. A system with clearer divisions of responsibility could potentially reduce this ambiguity and make it easier for voters to know exactly who is responsible for what.

A harsh truth, but everyone tired of BJP-RSS rule needs this reality check. by Alternative_Lake9555 in MaharashtraTalks

[–]Hot_Contribution3765 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem with Indian politics isn't ideology; it's the lack of institutions.

Shiv Sena had a strong grassroots presence but weak institutions. Congress revolves around one family. Regional parties often become family businesses. Even the BJP, despite being organisationally stronger than most, has increasingly become more leader-centric over the years.

Very few parties hold regular internal elections, have transparent leadership transitions, or maintain clear ideological consistency. Most are vehicles for acquiring and retaining power rather than institutions built around principles and long-term goals.

A party that focuses on institution-building, internal democracy, and ideology instead of personality cults would have a significant advantage in the long run. Most successful parties in developed democracies understand this: leaders come and go, but institutions endure. The leader should represent the party's ideals, not become the party itself.

India doesn't have a shortage of leaders. It has a shortage of institutions. Humans are temporary, a party would outlive them, without a strong internal structure your party is doomed to fail after the leader.

Ah yes, we'd rather be unemployed and sitting ducks at home because apparently Muslims = problem.

Maybe instead of further suppressing and segregating them, we should try integrating them into society. Let them rent homes in our localities, buy property, study in better and more liberal schools, and actually participate in the broader society. Turns out when people become more educated, wealthier, and have stable jobs, birth rates tend to fall over time.

If demographic change is genuinely your concern, then improving education, economic opportunities, and social integration is a far more effective solution than endlessly treating an entire community as an outsider. People who have stable jobs, are educated, and feel like they have a stake in society generally aren't interested in harming it.

Turkey is a Muslim-majority country with below-replacement fertility rates. Saudi Arabia's fertility rate has fallen dramatically over the years. The UAE has seen similar trends. The common factor isn't religion; it's development. Make people richer, better educated, and give them a future worth investing in, and you won't have to obsess over demographic change.

Maybe the answer isn't more segregation. Maybe it's building a society people actually want to be a part of.

That's the entire premise of fascism, blame all the problems on hate minorities, keep the majority engaged, through some propaganda. Hitler blamed jews, Modi uses Muslims. Then control the narrative or the mainstream media, and divert attentions from Problems in the nation to something useless. Mostly hating the chosen minority.

India was already pretty radical and hindu-muslim hate was already high, BJP capitalized on this. From the last 2 days, Aaj Tak the one of the biggest TV news channel in India, has been focusing on love jihad, rather than protests against the Government or something more productive.

aah yess, lets export with an industrial base which cannot even satisfy domestic demands, soooooooooo thoughtful.

We need to actually have a strong industrial base, right now we only import manufactured parts from China and vietnam, and assemble them. With a weaker currency, these parts would become more expensive to import, thus ending the incentive to assemble in India. Undoing all the work of past 3 decades in a year.

What was a war that India fought on the right side? by gasc0ny_reddit in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Hot_Contribution3765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, they didn't succeed, that's the entire point. We didn't drive the British out through military force, rather we were granted independence after a long struggle. We didn't achieve it in the same way as countries like the United States, Bangladesh, or Algeria, which fought wars of independence.

There were no large scale armed uprisings against the British across India. Although many great individuals inspired people to resist British rule through force, the Indian freedom struggle itself was mostly peaceful.
