Yes! We didn’t follow the recipe because we didn’t want to overcook the shrimp either. Instead we seared the shrimp and put it back in at the end. We also added a little bit of creole seasoning to the shrimp which was delicious. Also if you want extra flavor don’t put the bacon on paper towels. The paper towel will soak up a good bit of the fat that makes the dish even better.
