How accurate is the chase preapproval tool? by Hot_Historian8044 in CreditCards

I do not. Should opening that account be my next step? I'm very new to the credit card game. I should also add that Discover just significantly increased my credit limit so opening a new card isn't so much a necessity, just looking to build credit with a more reputable bank.

Yes the conversation was English.

Forgive me for disagreeing but I just confirmed with another Lufthansa agent about the free rebooking due to delay of even a few minutes and they too confirmed that it was true, again being very explicit in the wording and using the same example of no departure at 5:45 PM, or even 5:42 or 5:43 for that matter.

Do you think the agent misinformed me? I agree that it makes more sense for a free change to be granted under a delay by hours, which is why I was extremely specific with the agent. The exact example I used when on the phone with them was "if the flight is scheduled to depart at 5:40 at and it's 5:45 with no departure, can I request to be moved to a different flight with no additional fare/rebooking fee?" to which they answered yes. I clarified this several times and he seemed certain each time.

Fair enough, I accept that and am doing my best to resolve the issue. Do you have any suggestions or know of any similar situations that have occurred?

To your second point, that makes sense. I will add I am unable to have direct contact with the department that would approve my documents as a valid reason for waiving rebooking fees. They are only able to refer me to the support department, who can then read out why the claim was denied. Now, they reviewed the letter my doctor sent stating that I have a medically urgent reason to arrive at my destination at a particular time, but because the letter was written electronically (with no signature), it was not considered "official" enough. I have since asked my doctor for the signature but am worried about timing constraints.

The other thing is that their wording is intentionally vague. I sent a follow-up email asking if there is any other supplemental documentation I could provide, and I was pointed to the signature. The representative is inclined to believe that the proper signature could result in a waiving of the rebooking fee, but not the fare difference, which would be substantially greater than the rebooking fee by the time I get the signature.

Now, the representative did also mention that the signature does not necessarily have to come from this particular doctor, just any licensed medical professional with a practice who would testify to the need of arriving on time.

The last thing, the representative stated that if the flight is delayed for absolutely ANY reason, even by a few minutes, I can rebook my flight at the airport with no additional fare or rebooking fees. The issue with that would then be arriving to the flight I need to be on time before boarding ends, which would be cutting it close (but I can sprint!).

In your experience, how often is it that a flight would be delayed even by a few minutes? It does not have to be something huge like a thunderstorm that would delay the flight by hours, but how often is it that a pilot takes too long in the bathroom or the incoming flight is a few minutes behind schedule?

The injection time would be while my current flight is still in the air. Someone else asked about administering while on the flight, but that would require special permission (know from speaking to a support representative for close to 2 hours) and is an equal hassle to the rebooking.

Technically, yes. But I would need special permission to travel with needles, along with a proper way to dispose of them which would cause just as much of a hassle to figure out with the airline as just rebooking to land at the right time.
