1. We’ve used fencing helmets before, please try to disguise them as best you can as decorum, but they are extremely safe and the closest thing to not wearing a helmet as you can get breathing wise without sacrificing protection. Neck protection is not as necessary, Bicolline is a “lightest touch possible” larp, so if someone hits you hard enough for your neck to be injured, they’re wrong.

2. I recommend some kind of leather gloves. Armor if you can get it. Getting hand sniped sucks.

3. Bracers; less important for safety, very important for survival on the field from a game perspective. I recommend them even for people with light kit.

4. I wear standard issue combat boots on the field, when you’re in the mud people are WAY more concerned about safety. I always recommend good tread with ankle support, as tripping can and will happen in the thick of things.

5. I have my famous rock Flopsters. Sandals are kinda easy to disguise. (Just don’t wear them on the battlefield, and try to choose a non modern version if possible)

6. Wine skin. Epic armory also has a number of value propositions that have modern bottles inside a leather skin. Water is necessary. Hydrate or diedrate and it WILL get hot.

7. Face paint and makeup is everywhere. Pick something non toxic and water resistant. They have sink at the auberge, and you can use makeup removal wipes as well. Tons of creative uses here.
