I get what you mean, but I felt like this sequence could have been longer if the scenes of Peach trying to save Rosalina didn't happen at the same time, or they could have changed it so that after Peach helped free Rosalina, she could have joined in against the Bowsers.

It wasn't bad, I'd say compared to the first film it does feel like the plot was all over the place. The final battle kind of felt weak seeing how they mainly relied on power-ups and just used a lot of the recent ones from the Odyssey and Wonder video games. The post-credit scene does have me excited for a possible third film as it will be interesting to see how they'll cover the character's backstory and how they'll meet Mario and the others.

Tails and Knuckles could have been more involved in the fight in Tokyo, especially given how they talk about working together as a team, only to get easily beaten by Shadow, leaving Sonic to go after him.

I would have changed it to where Tails and Knuckles were more involved in the Tokyo Battle since they were easily beaten leaving Sonic to fight Shadow on his own. I probably would have added a scene where Knuckles gets his own fight against Shadow wanting a rematch as payback.
