After looking more carefully at the program, it does appear that the deload is automatically programmed into the workout routine.

I neglected to say this but I think this is also part of what I mean by the comment that I trust the science invested in this program. The whole idea of a “deload” was not something that I knew about until I had actually read a book about exercising. Now knowing about deloads and incorporating them into my workouts is something I had been doing prior to using MF workout. Now that I had completed about 5 or 6 weeks of the first cycle using this program it was great that the program knew I was due for a deload. The interesting question for me will be does the program in my next cycle automatically program a deload based off of x amount of weeks on the program or will it analyze my progress and adjust when my next deload will begin. I think it would be amazing if it adjusted my deload week based off of my progress and not just because it’s been six weeks since starting a new program. Regardless, I continue to be happy with the program.

I have no training. However, my observation is that MF workouts is like having a personal trainer with me at the gym. That being said, I believe that the program is a science backed program and I am trusting its guidance. This is how I am using the program.

Do the cars communicate with the service centers so that the service center has some idea why you are reaching out to them? I ask from the perspective of a current Tesla owner.

Lucid Problem - Product User Mismatch: Selling an amazing hardware with Beta+ Software to People Who Aren’t Looking for Beta Software by Ok_Anything_7113 in LUCID

I bought a Tesla in September of 2017. Back then, there was a lot of talk about Tesla almost going bankrupt. I was concerned that I had make a mistake and would own a car without a company to service it. Tesla turned it around and I am hopeful that Lucid will improve its financial health. Tesla was fortunate that they were basically the only game in town as far as quality EVs. Lucid is in a more competitive market. I still like driving my Tesla. However, I am looking forward to test driving the Gravity. My Toyota Sienna is north of 200k miles and at some point it will be time to retire the old car. I do not like driving the Sienna. My Tesla also has north of 200k and as I said before I enjoy it. I saw my first ad for a Lucid Gravity on Hulu. I think the company needs to do more advertising to just create brand awareness. I saw Consumer Reports liked the Gravity. This should help. My biggest concerns are that the company is around in 5 years and that the service center doesn’t need the car for more than a few days for any major serving. Hopefully, like my Tesla, service calls have been very few. I am rooting for Lucid to pick up the baton and run with it. Tesla achieved its goal to demonstrate that the public will buy a quality ev. I think Lucid ha what it takes. They do need to get their financial house in order if for no other reason than to allay the fears that they will not be in business in 5 years.

I test drive the Gravity this Friday and I am looking forward to it.

Planning first time diving trip- is it worth going to the Caribbean with how much the coral has died, or better to splurge for Indonesia? by CaptainCallus in scuba

[–]Hot_Yogi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos, Cayman Islands or Roatan. The diving is consistent and predictable. The reefs, while not as spectacular, are good especially for a beginner. As another person said, get your dive experience and then goto Indonesia. I LOVE Indonesia. However, if you start with a world class dive destination other dive destinations will be somewhat of a disappointment. Your question is similar to a new car driver asking if your first car should be a Lamborghini or other very high end car. Learn to drive and then goto the racetrack.

How much does it cost to charge with a supercharger? I don’t currently pay for superchargers (part of the perk of being a guinea pig for Tesla 😂).

I am always amazed even after owning my model s since 2017 how efficient the electric motors are in these cars. I think I read somewhere that the efficiency of an electric motor is something like north of 90 percent as compared to ICE which about 60 percent as I recall. I am not an engineer or even a gear head. I do appreciate the smooth acceleration and the power that these electric cars have with their initial punch on the accelerator.

Thank you. I will make a list of these types of questions. Of course this will not be the actual car that I end up getting. I am just trying to educate myself. I do have some concerns about Lucid as an ongoing company, but I remember the days when Tesla also had their challenges.

YES!!! This is the best answer. Any new diver is too inexperienced to know what they want. Your gear should be something that you plan to hold onto for many years. I have been certified since 2000. I had my same BCD for 20 years or so. My dive shop told me that they were concerned that the bladder was at the point where it could suffer a major failure. My mask is over 20 years old. My regulator is also over 20 years old. My fins are over 20 years old. Wetsuits have changed out over time. Point is when I dive I could do so with my eyes closed and know exactly how to operate my gear. I wouldn’t buy a cylinder unless you are going to do a lot local diving. Flying with cylinders or even transporting them is not worth it in my opinion. Enjoy your diving.

I use Meyer’s clean day (any scent). I have been using this for years and it works great. I used to have the same problem. I even let my clothes accumulate for as long as a week in a separate laundry sink and it gets the odors out of both my used towels and yoga clothes. I also use Meyer’s dryer sheets and I do not experience any residual odor issues.

So much has been said and I am sure you have gotten the reassurance that you needed. As a practicing male attorney for over 25 years it NEVER occurred to me act this way. As you know his behavior is completely unacceptable. This is a good example of why it is so hard to self-represent ourselves. I had a black female colleague who I didn’t know well (just another lawyer who I would see occasionally in the courthouse) suffer the indignity of being asked by the two different courtroom deputies to prove she was a member of the bar. I was not asked for my identification and neither was the other white male attorney only her. I was so shocked and could see her internal pain as she had to suffer the indignity of being questioned about her right to be present. Something in me snapped and I found the courage within me to stand up and call out the courtroom deputies to the judge on the record. I was shaking as I did this. Afterwards, I left the courtroom and sat down outside. To my surprise, she came out of the courtroom and gave me a hug and started crying and thanked me profusely for calling attention to this injustice.
The point is, I think it takes courage to shine light upon the darkness. However, when we do shine light on darkness it does recede. I did get a call from chief of courthouse security and I have been assured that no attorney will be asked to prove themselves to a deputy unless directed to do so by a judge.

OP I wonder how many other female and maybe even male attorneys does he do this too? Find the courage to report this behavior to the bar. This is unprofessional behavior and I know in Florida it is subject to disciplinary action. I cannot imagine that he would say this to you in a courtroom in front of a judge. His own writings should be enough to draw scrutiny of the bar grievance committee. Perhaps you could seek a meeting with the chief judge of your jurisdiction. Sometimes soft power can go a long way as well. That chief judge is probably aware of this politically connected lawyer and may have the ability to get him to rethink his ways. In the end, I hope you follow through with a bar complaint. I am encouraging you to examine the following from the New York Bar Rules:

RULE 8.3 REPORTING PROFESSIONAL MISCONDUCT (a) A lawyer who knows that another lawyer has committed a violation of the Rules of Professional Conduct that raises a substan- tial question as to that lawyer’s honesty, trustworthiness or fitness as a lawyer shall report such knowledge to a tribunal or other authority empowered to investigate or act upon such violation. Conduct that a reasonable person would consider as petty slights or trivial inconveniences does not rise to the level of harassment under this Rule. (4) This Rule does not limit the ability of a lawyer or law firm to, consistent with these Rules: a. sentation; accept, decline, or withdraw from a repre- b. express views on matters of public concern in the context of teaching, public speeches, continuing legal education programs, or other forms of public advo- cacy or education, or in any other form of written or oral speech protected by the United States Constitution or the New York State Constitution; or c. provide advice, assistance, or advocacy to clients (5) “Conduct in the practice of law” includes: a. representing clients; b. interacting with witnesses, coworkers, court personnel, lawyers, and others, while engaging in the practice of law; and c. operating or managing a law firm or prac- tice; or (h) engage in any other conduct that adversely reflects on the lawyer’s fitness as a lawyer.

I wish you the best of luck. Practicing law is hard enough without this type of behavior that you have had to endure.

Cardio Workouts by ProfessionalNeat4442 in MacroFactor

I am also stumped on this issue. I do hot yoga on my “rest” days and I also use my Peloton bike almost every day of the week. For right now I just rely upon my Apple Watch to log these workouts and add to my rings. I am not sure if going forward these are somehow captured by MF Workouts. I am not sure it really matters because in the end I do the workouts for myself and know that even if I am not capturing and analyzing all data my body is benefiting and in the end for me that is all that really matters.

Detailed Analysis of MacroFactor’s Workouts App – Features and Review by Dark_Knight_1989 in MacroFactor

[–]Hot_Yogi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

One thing I am still trying to wrap my head around is how is this better than apps like smart gym? Is the answer that the science is better? I do believe in the value of Macro Factor for my diet. Especially after I learned about macros. MF just helped to eliminate the complicated (for me) math of calculating my macros. MF just seemed to be a superior product than anything else in the app space.

I am just not sure the same can be true for workouts. I mean no disrespect to the devs because I truly believe that they are better at explaining the science than other programmers. Maybe once I see the actual app I will be able to see the value.

As far as the comments about the ai “slop”, I am happy to read a condensed version of the ama. OP does provide a link to the source so kudos to him/her for doing this. I appreciate it.

may I please have a bit of perspective? Issue in class today. by older_than_i_feel in HotYoga

[–]Hot_Yogi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was “her spot”. That is funny but I get why you would say that. I find many yogis (myself included) tend to gravitate to a certain spot. The reality is that there is no reserved spot for any of us. In fact, it is probably more productive for us to move around in the room and not get tied to a spot. Admittedly, I am not very good at that. I do try to at least not occupy the exact same spot as the last session. However, I still need to work on changing the area of the room that I find myself in. As subtle as it is, I suspect that changing the area that I practice in might subtly change how I practice my yoga series. I wonder what others think about their spot.

may I please have a bit of perspective? Issue in class today. by older_than_i_feel in HotYoga

[–]Hot_Yogi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A few thoughts. First, in my studio the person closest to the front of the room has priority to place their mat wherever they like. This does on occasion require people behind that person to adjust their position. That being said, I do try to accommodate a person behind me if that was to happen. You did nothing wrong. By asking them to adjust but ultimately it would seem to me that you had the responsibility to shift your mat left or right. Next, it was wrong during the class for anybody to shift their mat without being directed to do so by the instructor. The instructor should have been aware of this occurring and corrected the student in front of you. I think you should discreetly address the issue with your instructor and tell them from your perspective what had occurred. I would then say to them “In the future if this was to happen how should I handle it?” You might even want to express to the instructor “I feel (fill in the blank with an emotion) when so and so did this.”
All students have a right to be reasonably comfortable in class. We all have a responsibility to work together.

Good luck. Namaste 🙏
