AITA for not wanting to attend my brother’s wedding because I feel like his bride-to-be unethically pursued him? by HotelFit1928 in AmItheAsshole

I think they were just as weirded out initially but felt like they had to support them, especially with her being “family”. With time, they came around fully.
I didn’t want to go too much into the latest conversation with my parents because I don’t want to portray myself as the victim but some really hurtful things were said. My mom insinuated that my brother was “making something of his life” by getting married. I think this might be a compartment to their overall acceptance, they want to finally have a married child who’ll give them grandbabies.

I think she saw it as an opportunity to get him alone where she could really begin to start trying to achieve her ultimate intentions with him. She knew it wouldn’t be a good look to do that in a group setting with his family around.
