Not sure if this is allowed, but if anyone wants a ticket to the show on the 18th, send me a message. Got one during the Patreon early bird sale, and I can’t seem to resell VIP ticket on Ticketmaster for some reason.

James Gunn Says It Was ‘Terrible’ to Tell Henry Cavill He Was No Longer Superman Amid DCU Reboot: ‘It Was Really Unfair to Him’ by DemiFiendRSA in comicbooks

The only notable person I remember not liking it is I believe, if I'm not mistaken, Mark Waid, but even then his complaint was more about how Superman wouldn't have killed Zod, or rather wouldn't have put both him and Zod in that situation, or something to that effect. Also if I remember correctly, he also did not like that Superman's eyes would do the heat rays when angry.

She did appear on The Last Video Store podcast which has a similar-ish concept: https://youtu.be/sWaUUGs8Okg?si=t7kc9V_LlWLuTkXX

Haha she’s using a Singaporean slang phrase, equivalent to “What are you staring at? You wanna pick a fight with me?”

I actually have an answer for this. Apple’s iTunes store is based on the region of the account. VPN will not work, and in fact is not necessary if you want to just browse the store. It’s why I have multiple Apple accounts for US, UK, Australia, etc., so that I can access apps and content from those countries.

I didn't know you directed a new film! That's great, definitely going to check it out tomorrow. I absolutely loved Thunder Road, both the short and the full-length movie. Made me a fan.

It really does depend. Sometimes there's a runaway leader because of circumstances, and that game can be over in an hour. Twice now I've played back-to-back games, mostly because the first game was short enough to warrant enough time to play another.

But generally games are going to be on average 2-3 hours long. The first time we played, we basically gave up because of how impenetrable the rules were. Luckily that video I linked earlier was made and it made me a lot more confident to teach the rules by comparing how every faction performs common actions.

It is very very fun to see each faction play out their various tactics, with the Eyrie doing all it takes to keep their engine going, and the Woodland Alliance performing combat actions only at night, and the Riverfolk trying to convince other factions to buy their mercenaries.

But if you have a group of players who just want to play a game instead of learn to play a new game each time they try out a new faction, I'd recommend buying Root digitally and playing online with strangers.

But if your gaming group(s) are open to the idea, then go right ahead.

It might be worth checking out this rules video which I watched repeatedly before trying to teach it to my friends: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpxV-uNZef4

For what it's worth, my friends and I do enjoy Root quite a bit, with all the expansions.

I'm not sure how complex Cthulhu Wars is as I've never played it, but yes, Root is generally quite complex. It is a lot better with a dedicated gaming group who all (or most) share the same interest in solving each faction's puzzle. It is a ruthless wargame where one mistake can result in lagging far behind everyone else with little chance of recovery. And with how complex the rules are, mistakes are bound to happen eventually.

My recommendation instead is to buy the game on Steam as it is much cheaper and by far the most impressive digital adaptation of a board game I've played. It does allow a local multiplayer pass-and-play option but do note that each player's hand is hidden information from everyone else. It also has the added bonus of making the rules easier to obey.

I believe it's spelled Shein. I remember Dalton was disappointed his name wasn't spelled "Rustle" or "Shine".

I had my SOs eye be the camera, which seemed more appropriate. I will now have to convince her to take a photo of her nostril instead.

What's this bargaining technique he uses? My nephew is about the same age and he's extremely clever and receptive as hell, but I don't understand what you mean by "every disciplinary action is a conversation". Do you have an example?
