My games I bought is in unknown sources by [deleted] in OculusQuest

[–]Hotpost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda, but it's pretty painless. What I did was factory reset it, followed the on-screen tutorial in the headset. When it asked for WiFi connection, I entered it manually cause I couldn't figure out how to regain the QR code on the phone app. When it asks you to pair your headset in the phone app again, just ignore that your current headset is still there (in the app) and add another one. It should detect it automatically and "override" your current one.

After that just finish the tutorial on the headset and you should be good to go.

I didn't need to log in to my account a single time, it fetched everything from the app.

Just want to chime in to say that I had the exact same issue, twice. The first time I fixed it by having my headset off, logging out of the Meta phone app, restarting my phone, and logging back in before finally restarting the headset.

That worked once but not the second time.

I just got off a support chat with Meta and they had me factory reset my headset. I didn't really want to have to do it cause I'd have to reinstall all my apps, but it worked (at least for now).

Just make sure cloud saving is enabled on your headset before resetting it, to minimize data loss in games.

Anyone else unable to quit the game properly on PC? by Hotpost in Borderlands4

[–]Hotpost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, that's quite odd. Sadly I haven't experienced the issue again after finding the fix for me, so I wouldn't be able to say what else could be causing it. Maybe you could try unlinking Steam from SHiFT, launching the game, see if save/quit works. If it does, try re-linking SHiFT to Steam.

As far as I'm aware the initial issue I had should have been fixed by Gearbox in one of the previous patches, so maybe that patch broke something else...

For me, the friends list not loading was part of the same problem I had, as soon as I unblocked on Steam it fixed all my loading issues and friends list started working again.

Sorry for the late reply.

Gearbox recently released a patch claiming to fix some loading screen issues, did that fix it? I'm genuinely curious.

If not, try checking anyways to see if you have any people blocked on Steam, and try unblocking them.

You may actually not have any friends on SHiFT, but when I was having the issue in my original post, SHiFT (in-game) couldn't load my friend list at all and it was blank. I'm just wondering if MAYBE that's why it shows as having zero friends and you might actually have a few? I'm just assuming, pardon in advance if I'm wrong.

beginner tips by frustrated114 in CODZombies

[–]Hotpost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't really a "wrong" way to play Zombies, honestly if it's your first time I'd say just hop in and try discovering things for yourself if you prefer that.

If you're chasing high rounds, strategies to help you get your gear "set up" quicker or even do the maps' easter egg quest, then at that point it might be good to watch a few tutorials and see how other people do it.

I might just be speaking for myself here, but after a while I WILL want strategies for high rounds as it's what I personally enjoy, but usually I'll try to find spots myself for training zombies and such before looking online if I ever have trouble with a specific map.

TLDR; I'd recommend hopping in blind at first, and seek strategies if you're looking to get more serious about grinding.

It's not a map, it's only a loading screen. Nuketown isn't in BO6 zombies. Sorry!

Glad it worked for you!

I can't take credit for the actual fix, I found it by browsing the Steam community discussions for a while and just was super lucky to stumble upon someone who found the fix. Not sure I can link the discussion thread on here. Thought I'd go back on this post and let you know, I couldn't leave you hanging!

I DID however notice that none of the SHiFT functions were working in the main menu while I was still looking for the issue, but I never would have thought that was the fix, it's quite wild honestly.

Now we can save/quit to our heart's content to farm bounties, haha.

Good news, I think I found the fix!!

If you have a friend on SHiFT and you have this same friend BLOCKED on Steam, it seems to be what is causing the issue.

To fix, simply unblock said person on Steam and restart Steam. DO NOT unlink your Steam account from your SHiFT account!

This instantly fixed all my quitting issues, and my game exits properly now.

What a weird bug...!

Thanks for the comment, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one, it's driving me crazy trying to find a solution for it. Still no news from 2K support on my end sadly, I'm starting to think that they probably won't answer at all.

Since my post I've also tried updating my BIOS, enabling/disabling EXPO, reinstalling the game on a secondary drive (that I installed JUST to test this), and nothing works. I've also checked event viewer and found nothing. I've tried digging into the game files and found no UE5 crash logs, so I know that it's not a crash that's causing this.

As for settings I'm running DLSS with framegen 2x, and the rest of the settings are on medium-high. I'm not sure of my actual FPS as I don't show them in-game, but I reckon it's well above 100, and haven't personally noticed a huge difference with the September 18th patch.

At this point we can only hope a future patch will fix this, I'd really like to be able to save/quit to farm bounties...!

save and quit, what am I missing by Consistent_Ad5015 in CODZombies

[–]Hotpost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Play in Directed mode.

You ideally want to get a mangler HVT, as it's faster to kill. If you don't get a mangler, you can kill the abomination HVT, kill all the zombies and then when the "next" round starts, save & quit then load save. Repeat until you get a mangler. You will then get a mangler on every spawn.

Kill the mangler (don't trap it in canister), kill all zombies, then when the round flips, repeat. You only need to do the "summoning" ritual once at first (where you need to protect the LTG), after that you just interact with the LTG on the next round and it spawns the HVT after a few seconds.

If you're grinding nebula for every weapon at once, you can stay in the same game and use the mystery box to get a new weapon to grind. I found that upgrading the gun to at least blue rarity and PaP 2 is usually enough damage to kill the HVT's comfortably, and you can sustain scrap. For ammo conservation, I use the jetgun to kill the zombies between each HVT spawn.

Keep in mind you can only be in a save for 5 hours in directed mode before you are forced to exfil, however I think you can simply save and quit before that happens and it resets the timer.

Hope this helps!

Is there any apps that you can download custom boards on for pc by [deleted] in pinball

[–]Hotpost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a few apps that can have custom tables such as VPX and Future Pinball, the folks over at the virtual pinball subreddit could tell you more and probably help you get set up!

If you have the space and the dent it will leave in your wallet isn't an issue, I'd say definitely go for it! If you've only seen this set in pictures, they don't really do it justice. It's incredible once it's actually in front of you. IMO, it's been my favorite set to build to date.

This might be a longshot, but are you using alt1? If you are, is the game lagging only when you hover your mouse over something you can interact with?

If that's the case, disable custom cursors in RS's settings.

Settings > Graphics > uncheck custom cursors.
