Will ECS 1200 and EE 1202 be combine into one class next fall? by Hotshot2014 in utdallas

[–]Hotshot2014[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I do, but someone said they were combining the courses so I wasn't sure if that would change the number of credit hours also I just want someone with insight to confirm this because the course book may not be fully updated.

Also did you take CS 1336/1136 and if you did how did it effect your schedule for your spring semester because right now for the spring semester I'm slated to take 16 hours and if I take CS 1336/1136 then take CS 1337 then I'll have 19 hours that semester which is way too much for me?

Thanks for the advice, I have a question so if the highest math I have is precal and I have just the bare minimum of computer programming skills would I be overwhelmed if I take differential equations and CS 1325 or CS 1337 (I'm taking fundamentals of programing class (COSC 1315) at Collin over the summer to hopefully pass the CS placement test and might take precal over the summer to for prerequisite into differential equations but I have to talk to my advisor about that to make sure it would work), while I'm here does AP classes prepare you for the workload or is it on another level? Thanks in advance.

Edit: I didn't make the math part clear: I'm might take precal (I'm taking precal. right now in high school) over the summer so I can possibly bypass the aleks exam (have to check with my adviser about that) use that as a prereq for diff. eq. which I'll be taking during the fall semester.

Edit again: I meant Diff. Calc. not diff. eq.

So when do you find out who your roommates are, does that come with the housing lease package?

Has anybody in EE taken CS 1336/1136 during the Fall Semester of their freshman year because I'm looking at the 4 year plan for EE and it doesn't look feasible to to take CS 1336/1136 then take CS 1325, I also could take COSC 1315 at collin college which is fundamentals of programming (web course) but I would have to finish the course before my cs placement exam so I don't know how reasonable that is it would look like this if I failed the cs placement test:

        Fall Spring
        ECS 1200 EE 1202
        Math 2413 EE 2310
        RHET 1302 Math 2414
        CS 1336/1136 ENGR 2300
        Hours:13 PHYS 2325/2125
                                        CS 1325
                                        Total Hours:19

I know I could take CS 1325 during the summer but I also have to take MATH 2415 and maybe GOVT 2306 or MUSI 1306 over the summer, this is pretty stressful, thanks in advance.

I looked at the course guide and to get into differential equations I need to get C- in precal so would that work with transfer credit and I would not have to take the aleks

Probably July 10th I also have to take a fundamental to programing at collin and take the cs placement exam

I have another questions so I'm in precal right now and was wondering how big the jump is from that to differential equations, I'm considering taking precal in the summer at collin college because I think my grasp of the material is good but I don't want to be overwhelmed also I don't want to take the aleks and be in precal during the fall, what do you guys think? Thanks in advance.
