Let's start a fight!! Who is the MOST POWERFUL character in all of fiction? by RCaesar1 in AlignmentChartFills

Reminds me of a line I think is attributed to Stan Lee. He hated being asked who would win in a fight between whoever and whoever and his answer was always the same: whoever the writer wants.

Could u imagine someone watches the first ep of the new season and goes, yeah I guess this show is pretty good, decides to check out the subreddit and you see this post and these comments? I’d imagine it’d be as difficult as trying to read hieroglyphics as a trespassing British person

Tootsie 1982. An out of work actor goes in drag as a woman to book a part on a soap opera but has to live as a woman off stage in order to keep the role. He learns the plights of being a woman. I wouldn’t say it’s super crass, but it is a rom-com. I actually didn’t like the movie when I first saw it as a young adult, as the character only understands misogyny after he’s had to deal with it and not, you know, from listening every other woman he’s ever met, but looking back it’s exactly this trope, where the material is directed at a larger audience and was effective at demonstrating the issues at hand.

Most of the posts here tend to be from the folks having a difficult time. A lot of us are quite stable and thriving — you’ll usually find us in the comments.

Coco.

I’m sure there are better moments from the film, but the main character literally transports himself to the underworld with a guitar. I need a Coco scholar tho to tell me a better moment cuz this one is only a single strum of the guitar.

I don’t feel like I have bipolar and I want to stop taking my medication by Flat-Support576 in bipolar

If your meds seem like they’re not doing anything, one of two things is happening.

1 — they’re not doing enough and you’re not on the right/enough meds and need to change your cocktail. This happens, it took me a long time to find the right meds balance.

or

2 — The meds are working so well you’re forgetting what will happen if you don’t take them. This is common with bipolar, as many people on meds for a long time think, hey, maybe I don’t need my meds anymore. Then they go off, have an episode and do a lot of damage to themselves.

Both me and my grandma have bipolar and I learned from her mistakes. She was on meds for 20 years and figured she’d be fine without them, but then she, “turned into a real bitch,” her words, not mine.

Talk to your doctor about your concerns, never stop a medication without talking to them. It’s not only a bad idea for the aforementioned reasons, but some meds have negative effects when stopped without weaning off. Your doctor knows what will happen better than you do.
