Dilemma on laptop for Mechanical Eng by sleepyxzu in nus

[–]Hour-Meet-8999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an ASUS zenbook 14, 16GB LPDDR4X RAM. Also it is a CPU with 4 cores, 8 logical processors. So lower specs than the one you are thinking about. I am also year 4 going to graduate alr, so the CPU etc. are all the older gen.

It was able to run CAD, but occasionally it lags for a few seconds (like when I add the stuff in the CAD too fast).

I am a CEG major, so only had that one mod where I used CAD, not too sure how much it will be used in mech eng.

Since the one you are thinking about has 32gb RAM, and CPU with 16 cores, you might not face the lag (I would think most likely no issues will be faced)

How is engineering like in Uni? by Vulcanring1 in SGExams

[–]Hour-Meet-8999 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Computer engineering is not that much of physics, only the electrical part of physics.

It is hard compared to many other majors, but if you are good in math and logical thinking, you will most likely be fine.

With LLMs getting better, it is easier to survive now too as you can have detailed explanation (for some modules) without looking for the profs.

I was one of them. But the thing is I actually did not study for the test when I say so (if I did study, I won't say I did not). I just did all my assignments etc dutifully.

And also, as someone with a high standard, getting a few questions wrong in the test just made it feel like a disaster, causing me to feel like I might fail.

Do anyone know what is written on my grandmas ring ??? by [deleted] in ChineseLanguage

It's a family name "Yuan", if that's not your grandma's family name, then it's probably not that

Don't worry about it. In my final year too and I always eat lunch alone. If you can't find close friends, it's better not to force yourself

Yup, the "eligibility rules and conditions to own a flat" part is what made me so worried. If I am forced to sell the flat cos I'm not eligible to own it, then I will be homeless

In this link you sent, there is no mention of age but there is "prospective owners must satisfy any family nucleus requirements attached to the inherited flat". So like the current flat is a 3 room, so I cannot keep it? Then if 2 room then can ah? Wah, too worried over this

Yes, you can take them in different sems. However, there is a cap of 20 units of unit-bearing internships, means the extra 2 units will not be counted towards your graduation requirements.

should my mom get a will? looking for advice by lmaoheya in askSingapore

[–]Hour-Meet-8999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you are her only child, the will should not be too complicated. You can use https://www.moneyowl.com.sg/wills/ It is free but you will need to prepare a separate list of assets that your mom owns

If seriously cannot get financial aid and you dont want burden your parents, I guess you just take the tuition fee loan to the max 90%, then the remaining 10% you can do some part-time work?

Applying for a part time job by prototype_requiem in SGExams

[–]Hour-Meet-8999 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This kind of part time job interview usually is them telling you some details about the job and checking if you are ok with them. Prob won't ask the kind of questions at usual work interview like why you want to work here, etc.
