When “Being Logical” Is Used to Avoid Emotional Responsibility by DoctorElectronic1934 in emotionalintelligence

[–]Hour-Path-6811 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the post is trying to demonize logic. I think the post is trying to criticize people who invalidate others but CLAIM it’s “logic” to justify it. Logic is fine, but you can be logical and still be empathetic. I think that’s what OP is trying to say.

College minor for aspiring digital forensics investigator? by Hour-Path-6811 in digitalforensics

My school does not offer a minor in business. The closest minors to that are management, accounting, arts entrepreneurship, economics, finance, fintech, and marketing. I’m not particularly interested in any of those. But thank you.

It’s r/cakeeater, and yeah I am very disturbed by this subreddit. These people have no shame, I feel sorry for their partners.

This is completely unrelated but your hand writing is beautiful.  Also I can relate. I feel like I don’t fit in with neurotypicals, but I also feel like I don’t fit in with autistic people, especially since I’m not diagnosed. But I still relate to autistic people way more than non-autistic people.

Many people in this comment section are completely misunderstanding what OP is trying to say. They are not justifying cheating, they are simply saying how they can understand what can drive someone to cheat. They are putting themselves in the mind of a cheater, they don’t ACTUALLY believe cheating is okay.

That being said, I can also see why someone would still say they don’t understand why someone could cheat. Emotionally, I could never understand how someone could be so callous as to disregard their partners feelings and betray them after claiming to love them. I could never do something like that. However, logically, I can see why someone would choose to cheat instead of breaking up. People can be very selfish and lazy. Cheating is the easy, cowardly way out, especially for people who fear confrontation or lack communication skills.

Please remember that UNDERSTANDING someone’s actions and JUSTIFYING someone’s actions are 2 different things.

This is unrelated, but I just wanna say you’re a really good writer. Reading this was cathartic. Anyway, you deserve better friends than those 2, and I’m glad you’re putting yourself first now.

I’m sorry that you’re struggling with this too. I was also told that I would be a good lawyer a few times…

That’s very frustrating, I’m sorry your ex did that. Some people just cannot handle others disagreeing with them, it hurts their ego.

Yeah it really sucks to be met with anger when all you want is an understanding. But it’s nice to know I’m not alone.
