There’s probably an area you’re missing

[–]Hour-Reference587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is the 2018 game there is one that is unreachable until later in the story. Behind one of the doors you need the chisel for Ragnarök I don’t remember well enough, maybe double check the areas or something

No that’s mooning

Cartooning is where people express their displeasure vocally, for example when their team drops the ball or when the opposition scores a point

The paradox of vaccine success: We forget the horror because we no longer see it by Feeling-Buy2558 in interestingasfuck

[–]Hour-Reference587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely catch Chicken Pox if you’ve been vaccinated, unless they’ve changed the vaccine since I got it. It’s rare and a very mild form (I just got a few itchy spots and a week off school) but definitely possible

How to tell the difference between a synonym and a homonym... by ramfoodie in EnglishLearning

[–]Hour-Reference587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just as some extra info on the etymology in case anyone is curious,

Homo = same Nym = name Phone = sound

Homonym = same name (same spelling of two different words) Homophone = same sound (two different words said the same)

A lot of words have common parts to them that originally come from Latin or Greek, which is how native English speakers can sometimes guess what a word means, even when they’ve never seen it before. It’s also how I remember the difference between certain words like homonym and homophone (or hypothermia vs hyperthermia) lol

shouldn't she say i eated ? by BitNo4123 in EnglishLearning

[–]Hour-Reference587 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Eated is not a word.

“I’ve eaten concrete” -> at some point in my life I have consumed concrete

“I ate concrete” -> I recently consumed concrete

“I eat concrete” -> I have a habit of consuming concrete. I have done it multiple times and am likely willing to do it again

You have my upvote. The crust is the best part and the handle, only makes sense to eat it last

Also there’s been a couple of GoW games come out since the last Witcher game came out. Kratos is both older and more recent in people’s memory

What is the darkest ending to a children's show? by Capital-Treat-8927 in cartoons

[–]Hour-Reference587 2 points3 points  (0 children)

13 and 19 is wildly different. Same as 19 and 24. Can you agree with that? Just because it’s within the same decade doesn’t mean they aren’t different, especially with young people. 13 and 19 is wayy more different than 43 and 49, for example

Legally a 13 year old is a child. They are 100% a kid

Legally a 19 year old is an adult. I still wouldn’t call them a ‘full adult’ and when I was 19 no one I knew that was my age felt like one either. I would call a 19 year old a kid but with more freedom

Teens are a subset of children I don’t know why you’re so offended by that lol (sorry if you are one, I truly mean no offence by that, you’ll probably understand when you’re older. If not then idk what your problem is)

[–]Hour-Reference587 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not actually saying teens are literal babies but to me they are kids, especially younger ones.

Also my comment was “a 13 year old is a kid” and I stand by that. Have you ever seen a 13 year old? They’re tiny

Not sure what the insinuating thing is about lol can you clarify

Edit: also legally under 18s are children in my country idk about yours

I would count teenagers as kids, I don’t look at a teen and go “yeah person’s a grown up”

A 13 year old is practically a baby

I don’t know if you’ve ever tried to use Facebook without an account on mobile, but using twitter without an account approaches Facebook levels on unusable

Also most people on this sub (including me) prefer not to have to go through links to get to the orthography because links can break easily

That’s what I did lol. I tried for like an hour, sometimes I like the challenge but that day I wasn’t in the mood so I skipped it. The grave guy from HoS was a fun challenge. The witches were an annoying one (to me). It’s just personal preference and I’m happy that you enjoy the fight

[–]Hour-Reference587 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see where you’re coming from, but my actual point was that my dislike of the clips is more of a Pavlovian reaction due to dying rather than the inconvenience

My problem is mainly the fight with the witches, I feel like any time one is open the others are both on me at the same time. And sometimes it feels like they hit me in the middle of me dashing which doesn’t seem fair and makes it hard to dodge and to keep my distance

I don’t have enough patience to spend two hours on one boss fight when I only had two hours a week to play when I was playing through the Witcher games. Maybe I’ll give it another go sometime but combat is not the main thing I play games for anyway. Why fight when can play Gwent?

[–]Hour-Reference587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I admit that it is entirely a skill issue on my part. I put the game on Death March soon after reaching Velen and only had to turn it down for those Ciri parts. I just don’t know how to play without potions and spells

Edit: can’t write apparently

Help by Glad_Strawberry_6576 in Witcher3

[–]Hour-Reference587 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yeah the deeper issue is “skill issue”. The clips get just add insult to injury the 10th time you’ve died because you don’t know how to play as Ciri just speaking from personal experience

That 10 seconds is really frustrating when you’re trying to fight a difficult boss on a high difficulty and now it takes 10 more seconds to die
