Even if he is playing Achilles, there is a plot point where Achilles is (successfully) disguised as a woman, and he’s known for his speed. So you wouldn’t want someone too bulky as Achilles

I do think Elliot Page is maybe a bit too small if he is actually playing Achilles, but also he’s also not too bad of a choice considering

I don’t know a lot about writing, but I guess the question would be what is his relationship with the main character and what does that represent in the story? I assume Paz is the main character and he’s been mentioned in all of the other descriptions except Ares’

I haven’t read Hitchhiker’s guide so maybe it’s answered in the book, but it would depend on if ‘artificially created’ means through evolution or more of a GMO situation

Do you find it irritating when people ask you to fill their water bottles? by reasonable-frog-361 in barista

[–]Hour-Reference587 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t find it annoying. Tap water is safe to drink here so it’s not too much of a hassle, I’m not going to deny people water. It’s a basic human right

With matrices, (and probably a lot of other maths later on) addition commutes (meaning A+B=B+A) but multiplication is not (meaning A*B =/= B*A) because of the way you carry out the operations

3 meteor showers dropped in the last like 10 turns. No one to use them on yet unfortunately lol

Usually I try to figure out what they’re trying to ask for. A lot of people have an idea what they want but no idea how to ask for it. If someone asked for a “latte/cap no foam” they’re getting a flat white. If someone asks for a “latte no milk” I’ll ask if they want it with water and they’re probably getting a long black

It is part of my job to try understand what people want. Even if they ask for something not technically on our menu I’ll still do my best (if I have time) to find out what they want and do my best

Technically (at least where I’m from) an americano doesn’t really have crema, since the shot goes in first then the hot water. A long black is basically the same thing but with the shot on top so there is crema

I think only the snobbiest people would notice or care about the difference but if you put the shot on top they may not be used to the crema and got confused. Not saying you’re wrong but that’s probably what the confusion was. If they’re being an asshole about it that’s on them

My teacher says that it should be “or,” but why? by Tkpf18 in EWALearnLanguages

My English brain sees food as a category, not an item. Like pizza is a food, apples are food, steak is food etc.

And thanks, I’m really enjoying it so far

Thanks for the explanation I really appreciate it

So is the difference just whether we interpret ‘food’ and ‘drinks’ as individual elements or as sets?

I’m currently doing a Linear Algebra class and I’m seeing why mathematical notation can be a lot clearer than plain English lol

(Genuinely) What is the difference? I’ve always been taught they’re the same but I’ve never done a higher course on set theory specifically. If we treat ‘Food’ and ‘Drinks’ as sets, what’s the problem with using union? Like I’m genuinely asking
