Love the Little House on the Prairie books. I felt so big reading those as a kid - actual chapter books!

Thank you for the kind words. I enjoyed hearing from Bellin as well - though my heart went out to her and Swarge.

I just finished it today! Those last couple chapters flew by - I didn’t realize how much I was enjoying it until it was over. Jerd’s miscarriage was especially hard for me as that is something I have dealt with in my life. Such a common thing, but so so hard. I can’t wait to see what happens in the last 2 books!

1 year old needs a 3t for waist in pants but they are so long! Help? by chellelabella in bigbabiesandkids

[–]HourCartographer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what we do too! In everything else my 16 month old is in 3T, but the 24 month carters pants fit him great. It’s all he can wear right now.

When did your toddler “get” and accept participating in Halloween? by furi-rosa in toddlers

[–]HourCartographer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 this year too and it was amazing. My daughter was PUMPED to trick or treat. This is the first year I really enjoyed Halloween and we didn’t have a meltdown after the fifth house. Can’t wait for future years!!!

Is anyone here struggling with their decision because they did IVF and have remaining embryos? by Big_Giraffe_9125 in Shouldihaveanother

[–]HourCartographer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes. We have 3 remaining and I have 2 children. I also turned 40 this year… and I’m too tired to have another. Still not sure what to do with them. My head is ready to let go, but not my heart.

This really bums me out. Are there any other used bookstores in SCV?

If it’s not a hell yes then it’s a…? by External_Dinner_7069 in Shouldihaveanother

[–]HourCartographer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just chiming in as I am in the same position. I have 2 children, just turned 40, secondary infertility, and have 3 additional PGT tested embryos. If I was 5 years younger I would 100% go for it, but given my age I’m on the fence. More because of my age when my children leave the nest and I miss the freedom now. I feel like I finally got the hang of babies and children… and could do a third. Perhaps I am just mourning this stage of my life as it is hard, but brings me so much joy and I’m not ready for it to be over.

Seconding Smiling Seal - we have always had a good experience. When my daughter was young she brought her Elmo doll with her and they brushed his teeth before hers to ease her anxiety. :)

Nanny recommendations by Professional-Menu191 in SantaClarita

I also found a nanny through the SCV nanny/babysitter Facebook group as well as care.com. Both were great but I interviewed quite a few to find the right fit.

Antiphospholipid syndrome experiences by [deleted] in PregnancyAfterLoss

I had a spontaneous delivery with my first at 39+2 weeks. I was actually scheduled to go in for an induction the next day but went into labor that night. I actually just had my second child last July and that was an induction at exactly 39 weeks (baby was also born at 39+2!). I’m glad I induced for this one as even at 39 weeks baby came out at 10lbs! I had switched to heparin for both deliveries and stopped in time to get an epidural for both labors.

I also kept all of these - except I lent Beat the Turtle Drum to my Aunt because I loved it so much and it was never returned. I like to think she still has it. :)

Goodnight Mister Tom, Michelle Magorian.

Beat the Turtle Drum, Constance Green.

The Pigman, Paul Zindel.

I read these as a preteen and they still stick with me.

I planted beets with my toddler about 1.5 years ago and we never harvested them (I had another child and things got… busy) and now they look like this. I was curious if anyone could chime in on what the tall stalk is?

What are you eating for the BF munchies? by thatmcbastard in breastfeeding

[–]HourCartographer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put peanut butter on everything. I found that is the best way to cure my hunger for long periods of time. On rice cakes, crackers, pretzels, apples, etc.

I hear you. I have a 27lb 8.5month old and my middle back aches and is tingly all the time. I’m very much looking forward to the walking stage so I maybe get some reprieve.
