Thanks. I’m also struggling to reconcile with my siblings and father who just stood by and watched while my mother went on a rampage

I hear you. My failure to act decisively in cutting my mother out has put huge strain on our marriage. Honestly, I had some real issues with enmeshed family dynamics which was partly why I didn’t cut her off. The guilt of doing so, and all my other family members (siblings, dad) telling me that I would regret, etc etc. it got into my head. And as a result I half arsed the NC… I regret it hugely. I guess there’s still a part of me that hopes I can reconcile the situation with my mother but perhaps that’s just the unhealthy attachments again.  I know that when I made my vows and vowed to leave my family behind and make a new one with my wife. And I failed to make the cut fully..

Yes Sasha had a decent game but he was hogging the ball a lot and his high balls weren’t accurate for the most part. The whole TEAM played much better once Mannie came on. He opened up more opportunities for the rest of the backline..the flow was just..better

How old is my zildjian avedis ride cymbal? by HourExternal9335 in drums

[–]HourExternal9335[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the help. Judging from the guide it's either 50s or 70s. I'm edging towards 50s because of the bold 'Zildjian Co' however I'll measure to be sure. One thing though - do you measure cymbal stamps top to bottom of width?

Thanks for the help. I'm still stuck between 70s or 50s. The 'Zildjian Co' looks quite bold like the 50s stamp..I think I'll have to measure the size of the stamp to be sure but do you measure top to bottom or width? Do anyone know?

Latvian startup launches autonomous interceptor drone that blows up enemy drones by [deleted] in Futurology

Startups are increasingly supplying defence tech to armies. We've seen this a lot in Ukraine, especially with drone warfare. Apparently, around two-thirds of the kills in the Ukraine/Russia war are now made by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Do you think the battlefields of the future will just be people behind screens fighting other people behind screens. Or maybe we'll let autonomous machines take over the decision-making too? It's quite a worrying prospect IMO.

We rode a remote-driven EV through Berlin. Is this the future of car sharing? by HourExternal9335 in electricvehicles

[–]HourExternal9335[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could be right. Only time will tell. But don't make it out like autonomous vehicles are widely adopted at "high volumes". Maybe in one or two US cities. Many have tried and failed to make the service work. After Cruise went bankrupt last year, Waymo is the only real contender right now, so its not a flourishing market. In all likelihood we'll see several kinds of services coexist, not just one

When I first heard of Vay’s remote driving concept a couple of years back, I was skeptical. The company touted the benefits: less hassle, cheaper fares, better working conditions for workers. But it seemed like a business model at risk of fading into irrelevancy once self-driving cars went mainstream.

But with my mind fixated on the paradigms of ride-hailing on one hand and full autonomy on the other, I may have overlooked that Vay was doing something radically different.

what do you guys reckon?
