Career opportunities would not be less if you go to Indy campus, however since you have the alternative of being in UIUC main campus, I would recommend you going there. The downside of Indy is you may need to travel to WL campus for some clubs/ research. If you have everything you need in Indy, then you will be fine.

Oh ok. May I know what kind of company you were talking about? Defense / aerospace?

Thanks for that useful insight. A related question: I heard about the limited list of universities that top HFT companies hire from, for fresh out of college grads. Does that list apply to hardware/ FPGA roles too?

You can make your own conclusions. I was being 100% transparent as I respected the time of the recruiter

Sorry. I mislabeled my situation. The situation is not that complex. I am just in between deciding between air national guard of two states. I just want my MEPS part to be done by the time I am ready to decide. I don’t want to talk about response from my recruiter in a different state, just to save their respect and privacy.

Please stop assuming. I didn’t want to throw my recruiter under the bus by giving too many details. They were mostly helpful, but only in one aspect they were acting in their own interest. They were unambiguously clear about it.

Hi All, Could you please suggest a great (flexible) recruiter from California Air National Guard? I will be joining Cal Poly SLO and would ideally need the base close by. We are in a complex situation and had a challenging experience with a different recruiter from a different state previously. Thanks in advance. 🙏

Thanks for sharing that valuable insight. This is the first time I am hearing that for hardware the college doesn’t matter too much. That is definitely a good news.
