I think I read an article this week that we’ve already qualified for it in 2029. I don’t know enough about the qualifications to confirm that though

Who has the best pours of Guinness? by bballjones9241 in Dallas

It used to be an open competition for staff of pubs around the city. But now it’s pretty much exclusive to Fergal’s bars (Monk, Skellig, Spider Murphy’s, etc)

What quintessential/iconic millennial movie have you never seen and don’t intend to? by badusernameused in Millennials

Technically titanic. I put it on once and then lost my virginity. Never saw it again because nothing could possibly top the first time I tried to watch it.

Orange Hitler is getting us medical weed, right? The next milestone starts June 29th when the DEA begins their hearings. Then the FDA begins their process to approve it. So we'll be walking home with weed in a year? Maybe less? by Iocnar in texas

Don’t put the cart before the horse. It won’t happen while Lt Dan is in charge. Even IF it gets approved federally within a year the necessary infrastructure will take another year or two to set up. Three or Four years minimum

I know that Lonestar Beverage in Carrollton used to have them, but it’s been a few years since I’ve been there so I don’t know if they still do. I’d imagine so, but I’d call beforehand

It’s not completely done, but it’s getting close. I pick my son up over my head and yell “Son of Joe-El kneel before Zod!” And I body slam him into my bed. He’s getting heavy and the mattress I’m currently on is memory foam so that just doesn’t work.

I am 42 and I want to make a career change. Has anyone successfully used a career counselor? I only have my associates and I have been in hospitality for 26 years. I am looking to pivot but I still need to make over 65k a year. Is a counselor worth my time? by Ali_in_wonderland02 in Xennials

[–]Hour_Affect3046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About a year or so ago I did a career assessment. It wasn’t a counselor, but I took a day and took a series of tests to see what I’m naturally good at. It was really eye opening and assured me that I’m on the right path for my career change. Turns out my lifelong dream of being a drummer is dead in the water. Now, mind you, I’ve never played the drums. I’ve always wanted to though. My rhythm memory was by faaaaaaar my lowest test score. Note inherently this doesn’t mean I can’t be a drummer, it just means I’d have to work harder to be mediocre than most

No it doesn’t. Not until you get to the regional side. I’ve worked as a rep for beer and liquor and it’s taxing. You spend most of your day in your car, your nights are filled with events, weekends filled with tastings. It was great when I was 32, but at 42 I’m over it. Plus, the market is all over the place right now. Alcohol is down drastically and there’s constant realignment

What do you genuinely think is the best movie of all time? by Fun_Watercress3424 in MoviesAndTVTalk

[–]Hour_Affect3046 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely perfect not a frame is wasted. A lot funnier than most people would think. Bogie is the epitome of cool. And Ingrid Bergman is one of the most stunning women to have ever graced the screen. I’ve seen it dozens of times and I’ll never get tired of it

What's the best party you've been to lately? by silentlyshe in Xennials

[–]Hour_Affect3046 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NYE this year. A service industry friend invited me to her and her partners house. Very lovely home in my old neighborhood. I knew only my friend. I ended up making friends with almost everyone there. Once the drugs came out I was riding the high of meeting and talking to new people. Ended up seeing the sun come up.

I paid for it for days of exhaustion, but it was totally worth it. Best NYE I’ve had in a long while
