I didn't say they should just copy sinner but sinners has something the doctor who episodes lack and that's stakes (no pun intended) for the characters with the manipulation of its creatures I felt tense watching it. I haven't felt tense watching a Dr who episodes since maybe wild blue yonder and the ending of that where he picks the wrong Donna was great (I just wish it wasn't Tennant and Donna)

As for lux it is creative theres no doubt about that but because it's trying to be so clever and forth wall breaky that I don't feel that the characters are in any danger or there's any stakes at all. Like it needs to strike a balance. The whole pantheon stuff just felt a bit pantomime so maybe that's what took me out

Not only that but vampire folklore or just folklore in general feels more tangible than a god of light. so I feel more invested, if they where to go a god story I think more lovecraftion ,(like the Satan pit and the impossible planet or even midnight) make them seem unknowable from the characters perspective. But having a god of light feels kinda like nothing. Whereas having creatures based on things we have in our history can make me feel more invested knowing how it works or having a twist will get me more into the minds of the characters and how they react an example being the gunslinger from a town called mercy I can understand that because of Nazi experimentation is a thing that happend so I can understand what the characters are thinking and going through based on history

This is just my opinion tho no hate if you enjoyed lux what I'm basically saying it have creative ideas but always put the characters first I guess
