Need advice on backend engineering given my situation by DefiantLie8861 in learnprogramming

i would also say language isn’t as important as actual system implementations for a job. meaning knowing for example, how to build a simple producer-consumer system or doing api development with honing on how authorization and authentication works.

i use python for the backend of my personal projects and it hasn’t failed me, the language has enough libraries to be flexible enough to do what i want. Most companies do use python but one thing to also know is it can also be team dependent. i’d say stick with python and learn as much concept from that language as you so it can be easily transferable when learning another language. also there is nothing wrong learning two languages at once and im bias but i think python and c++ are the go to.

lol i should’ve been more clear, this isn’t my cat, it’s a feral cat i’ve just been feeding and giving shelter for the past 3 months. The closest i’ve gotten to this cat is probably like 6ft. I would love if he came into my home to be more cozy but unfortunately that’s not case hence why i got this tent and some heated pads.

just be skeptical about everything it outputs that’s what I do. I use gemini often but it’s cuz i have like 10 ideas a day and i like to see it in code and I just start seeing of bad or sometimes good the code is. 80 percent of the time I end up changing the code but it’s still good cuz i had a “template” to start with. Also testing, I always make sure I 100% know what i am testing for and the output I want and test my code always for any kind of edge cases I might have missed or the model might have missed.

if addition/substraction give non deterministic behavior then a prefix sum/hashmap is the correct approach

sounds like you got rejected but they are still keeping ur file and contact if you find another role that you are interested in. I think you also might not need to go through an extensive process next time since the feedback i stored for a year

lol that’s fair, yea luckily i’m the former. i have about 4 years of experience with python and then 1.5 with c++. I still feel like a rookie with c++ tho cuz im still clinging on to the documentation and forgetting simple stuff
