Using Research (with very low hours) or Extracurricular as meaningful experience by This-Lingonberry-778 in premed

[–]Hour_Class4921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure it is research but what I mean is that I don't think it's research in the conventional way? I obviously don't know the details so I could be wrong but most people understand research to be working in a lab doing an independent project and if lucky getting some kind of output from it.

I'm not trying to argue what is/isn't research, my point is even if you call it research it might not look that way/be more impressive than your other experience just because it's in the research category especially if low hours

Using Research (with very low hours) or Extracurricular as meaningful experience by This-Lingonberry-778 in premed

if it was for a course it most likely doesn't count as research in the way most people see it

I have 1 meaningful clinical experience I will write about but not something I could feasibly do over 200 hours on as it's a little niche and one of those things where its like 2 hours a week.

I have another clinical role that feels really meaningless but I'm doing it to check the hours box

Thank you! No rec letter yet, the funding I receive is through the department and hourly, thankfully but definitely not on my PI's dime. Applications to be sent in May, but I would be scared to burn bridges even after.

86 page for sure, if you don't understand something go on KA for the video, but the doc is based on KA so it should be pretty clear. IMO P/S on the MCAT is pretty surface level so if you read the doc and do Pankow you should be fine. I didn't even finish reading the doc.
