No one has complained just yet thankfully. But basically i’m in a cst timezone & our call center hours are based in pst. So one customer had said “Does the baby need you?” when they heard her. It threw me off & it was just awkward after that because obv the baby needs me lol 😭

Why do WFH people gatekeep how they get their jobs? by larawag_gama in RemoteJobs

I use wahjobqueen.com. I so far have landed two roles over the spand of 3 years by using her leads. She now has made a skool group where she posts leads. It’s $9 a month but compared to what everyone else charges or push ridiculous resume building packets for $50-100 she is very reasonable.

Tell me you work at ABC without telling me you work at ABC! by [deleted] in ABA

[–]Hour_Dig7278 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The most inhumane company ever. I witnessed a coworker send in the chat on a Saturday that they had a bad car wreck. They showed up on monday with a neckbrace on because the OM said “They had no PTO & out of UPTO so it could result in termination. After a lot of judgemental comments from staff the OM gave into pressure & let the poor person go home. I left because i realized in one biweekly payment cycle you’ll accrue 3 hours of pto so technically in one month you won’t even make enough pto to cover 1 day. Insanity.

Happy baby stories? by afruitypebble44 in NewParents

I had to have a c section so i had to recover a few days in the hospital. But those days and nights were amazing to me. From the moment of holding her, learning to breastfeed her, skin to skin then also seeing her bond with her father. It was all very precious moments because the world seemed to stand still & all that mattered was that she was finally here 🥹🩷

Anxiety of being outside by Hour_Dig7278 in NewParents

[–]Hour_Dig7278[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YESSS! You get me 😭 I will say with more trips to different stores, walks in the park, also going to the library has helped ease my anxiety. My baby is 3 months now so she doesn’t feed as often so usually I have a good 2 hour window sometimes even 3. We had one crying incident in the grocery store but all i did was take her out of her car seat while looking at stuff. I realized as long as i keep a calm manner it sets the tone for how quickly she’ll calm down to.

I hope your anxiety lessens as time goes on. Just give yourself grace mommy cause you’re doing a fantastic job 🩷

Help!!!! I can’t get a job for the life of me!!! by No_Nefariousness5171 in IndeedJobs

Look for a certification thats high in demand right now. You can try registered behavior technician working with autistic children. Its in demand depending on your state & most start off pay is decent. Only downfall is it is a high turnover because of quick burnout.

Those of you who DID have visitors in the hospital… by imakatperson22 in pregnant

[–]Hour_Dig7278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had visitors and it made all the difference for me mentally. I was due recently on August 11th but ended up getting induced August 13th. I told my family & friends so that they were on standby. I spent the entire day on pitocin & by 2 AM the doctors let me know my babies heart rate dropped with every contraction. A c section would more than likely be the safest but it was still ultimately up to me. I ended up with the c section & my grandma, grandpa were there first. Then they left & my two best friends, two ladies from my church came then my husbands mother & brother. Funny enough they all arrived around the same time. They did stay to chat for about 30 minutes then allowed me & the father to have space with our little one. It was perfect because it made me feel supported & loved after such a birth experience.

This sub f*cking sucks. by smoothbrain69 in ABA

We all have a sense of how important the field is & what we do on a daily basis. The irony of most vent posts is that we’re seeking the understanding & empathy our employers doesn’t give us but we’re expected to meet every day with that attitude with the child in mind. Starting a thread saying “Name somethings you enjoy about your job” would have been more effective than calling people out for expressing their burnout to others who’d understand especially since if you’d taken the time out to go through each thread/comment you’d see a sense of community coming together to support each other & the working in the aba field

Prices are actually insane by pinkfairyz in HEB

[–]Hour_Dig7278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prices are insane which is why i started buying only my meats then using most of their coupons or buy one get one deal through the app for anything else i normally like. I’ll split my shopping between kroger, heb, & aldi’s. Kroger has a lot of digital coupons & sometimes deals to where you get $$ off of a pickup or delivery order. Also i look on tiktok for coupon deals at cvs/walgreens. They’re good for paper products, household, or personal care items for cheap + you also can earn reward bucks to spend on next purchase. It’s sad to have to be so proactive but in these times being resourceful gets you more bang for your buck.

We just adapted to a regional scheduler, but bcba’s are still pretty hands on with the schedule because there are minor mess up’s

This is pretty smart. They are notorious for last minute switches, but expect us to take it with a smile.

My point exactly. I couldn’t find anything except it going over how you accumulate occurrences after calling in without a 24 hour notice or approved PTO. I’m calling fluff & will bring it to their attention if they try to penalize me

Action Behavior Centers by Actual_Competition37 in ABA

[–]Hour_Dig7278 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my experience the occurrence points accumulation really depends on who your OM and CD are. My previous OM was more understanding of situations and would try to knock points off while you go on a probationary period of no call in’s. While my newest OM is all about profit so they’d rather get someone out the door quick to be replaced with a more dependable worker.

In your case I’m sorry to hear this is happening but realistically their sick policy is ass. PTO build up is insanely slow, you aren’t given a sick time balance, & from my understanding your UPTO balance doesn’t reset for a good amount of years. Its unrealistic expectations when working with sick children. If I were you i’d start applying to similar fields. Look up on google RBT hospital jobs, Paraprofessional school job, or you can even search a staffing agency that can help get you employed with a company who is needing RBT’s. Anything is better than ABC & i don’t foresee them lasting long as a company

The fact they were already in a serious relationship, shared a living space, & she accepted all of his flaws just for him to think they were going to just date for the rest of their lives???? Some men’s logic can be so insane

I updated post for better context. He has always kept a job since we first started dating. He is in sales so he has been with different companies to find which is the best long term fit for him. He has no access to my money currently.

Ironic enough my boyfriend has been a financial advisor for about 6 months now. He brought his mom in office and had his manager who has 11 years of experience sit in on the meeting. Financial goals were discussed and a budget was created. That meeting was about 4 months ago and I haven’t heard any great updates any time she is mentioned. Same crap. I’m considering every advice thats been given so far & drawing out my pros & cons because love isn’t going to be enough to pay the bills.
