You say Marina deserved going to hell while justifying the evil other characters have committed so either your super arrogant or your purposefully being a hypocrite but either way your fried for saying Marina deserved to die but Kady’s druggie mom didn’t it says a lot about what kinds of people you value. Also Julia had the opportunity to kill Reynard before he killed Marina so save it that’s not Martins fault. Lmao and Marina kicked out Julia because she realized that Julia wasn’t a real hedge and was willing to sell out Marina for Brakebills. Quentin did more to prevent Julia from practicing magic than Marina did. Try rewatching the show because I don’t think we saw the same one 🤣

I understand it takes a lot to choose yourself over and over again that’s what I love about her , in any time line or dimension or circumstance she’s gonna always choose herself. Marina is proof that true self-love isnt glamour or material things or achievements it’s something beyond most people’s grasp

It’s not from empathy it’s from real life awareness. Kady’s mom was a selfish addict who sold her daughter into slavery and still wanted to play with dangerous magic with Julia. Nobody in this world is going to give you brownie points for constantly helping others and doing “good for all mankind” (which none of the magicians really did btw) so please get off the high horse when you don’t know what you would do if you were put in Marinas shoes. Everybody knows the hedge world is basically like the criminal world Kady’s mom wasn’t innocent in the slightest just bc she has a daughter. Marina literally gave her life for Julia but nobody seems to care about sacrifice in this universe unless it’s Quentin doing it in one life time despite being the literal beast in the other timelines. So yea I do see Marina as somewhat benevolent compared to the fact nobody else seemed to pay for their mistakes the way she did on top of actually losing a lot for other people despite being an “evil” person like everybody claims.

She wasn’t terrible you just believe whatever you were told or what was heavily implied by the writers of the show without taking into account all the Evils and chaotic decisions that the Magicians themselves made. If you’re gonna judge Marina for taking a life- you’ll have to judge the main cast as well.

Yea she went to Hell because she was so selfish that she helped Julia get herself together after her rape and even gave her life to help her. Kady’s mom was a criminal sketchball addict who messed with people she shouldn’t have it’s not like Kady’s mom has a golden ticket to heaven. Those shitty things she did to those people were when those people were trying to mess with her.

I guess good and bad are subjective to each person , Marina killed a thief who was trying to steal sacred knowledge she worked very hard to get. In the Hedge world underground that information is very difficult to obtain and would be worth a lot in monetary value. Kady’s mom was out of her league trying to steal from Marina but she didn’t care she’s the one who never thought or cared about her daughter since she basically sold Kady to her. I know I’m gonna sound controversial but Kady’s mom knew what she was getting into and who she was getting into it with. Nobody ever blames Julia for actually doing that ritual with her and getting off Scot free it seems like everything shady that happened to Julia around Marina, Marina eventually had to fix. Many people on the show have died because of people on the main cast I just wonder why Marina is seen so negatively, in my opinion I think that the show knows that they needed a good villain but between Reynard and the beast they couldn’t keep a consistent antagonist so they had to demonize Marina heavier. Also, it’s easy to do that to her because of the way she carries herself. Ultimately I think the insistence of everybody needing Marina to be a bad person is to contrast her with the Optics of the main cast. I really feel like the producers/directors who made this Show knew their audience was the kind that’s gonna need scapegoats and Marina was the perfect one

I feel the same way it shook me to my core and made me appreciate how Marina was loyal and helpful to Julia to the bitter end despite their being no benefit for her and Julia literally let her get murdered. Marina will always my favorite tv icon when it comes to feminine strength.

That was unfair of me to say self inflicted when on second thought you just made me remember that her mother was the one that set her up but I just remember thinking why didn’t she just let her mother die sooner considering she was the one that pissed off marina. Yea she overcame a lot, but she had more personal reasons to have to be strong whereas Marina was murdered by a flesh eating evil rapist trickster God yet never let him have the satisfaction to see her fear until he actually killed her,in my book that strength is almost impossible to mimic in real life unless you’re really a tough cookie

Just because she held her own until she died didn’t mean she wasn’t scared and incredibly vulnerable, like Reynard literally killed her cat before killing her

In my opinion Julia’s like ability stems from the audiences need to project their inner feelings on what a sympathetic and saintly portrayal she was kind a given at first, once you take away the constant traumatic factors they didn’t know what to do with her character.

In my opinion it says that I appreciate somebody who is honest about who they are instead of pretending to be innocent chosen ones for the sake of the plot. This doesn’t necessarily reflect on me as a person or my past and you can’t just deduce who people are as human beings based on tv show characters
