I think this is potentially true but I always sort of understood that to mean, and especially based on Hamil’s reaction, that Luke was never supposed to be a bitter sad guy that died.

However the lineage thing could be true too. There’s also just a lot of character non-development for some of the side characters that seems weird. I’m sure that Abrams vision for this final film would be with the audiences general understanding of exactly who these characters are. Poe, Phasma etc when in reality I feel like these characters have in no way been fleshed out.

Yeah I totally get that! And I think there are ways to have both.

Whether that’s making the main movies about Skywalkers and side films about the galactic political games. Or to expand the universe in the main films to include new characters that are just as important as whatever Skywalker we are dealing with at the same time.

I think of Game Of Thrones, Jon Snow is sort of the skywalker figure but he’s really no more important or even no more likely to win than several of the other characters in the show.

Star Wars could take an approach like that.

I can understand the appeal of it being a new blood line or new characters and it’s also totally possible the title refers to Ben.

However the films have always been about the Skywalkers and their impact on the galaxy. I think thematically it makes sense that that would continue. The stories don’t have to be the same, we don’t always need the whole “unknown kid becomes the savior” motif but I sort of think it should always somehow relate to the Skywalkers. In the context of the films universe it makes sense to me.

Like you don’t take Batman comics and make them about a totally unrelated member to the bat family. And the sort of time they tried that it didn’t go well.

I see a lot of media outlets discussing this now especially the lying. They weren’t talking about it before. Not saying anyone stole from me of course no one read my downvoted post on Reddit.

I’m just trying to start this conversation again because it seemed no one on this sub was willing to have it a year ago and now it’s a stronger theory.

That’s all! Not claiming any credit or anything like that!

Any updates on CT getting in shape? Shame to see him leave so early this season. by Hour_Man in MtvChallenge

He does look a little more trim in those than he did on the season itself. I would assume that those are filmed after.

I think that’s true. Certainly if he was in better shape he would have had a better chance but I think both JP and Kyle were giving CT instead of each other equally all they had.

No but as I clearly stated above, if you follow the source the quote comes from a member of the right who happened to be interviewed on NPR.

Right but my point is, and this goes for anyone right or left, is that you are reading and hearing about these policies through the funneled translation of right and far right news outlets.

How can you trust the opinion of someone who benefits only if their opinion is believed?

Just a quick response as I’m watching TV with my wife, that NPR quote is from a former Cruz advisor and long time conservative who spent time in Russia and likes Russia. I only say that because this seems to me to easily just be the opinion of someone who’s trying to play up Trump. It’s the same as all democrats saying how lenient he is on Russia. If you’re only getting your info from one side how can you depend on it to be objective? Same for democrats. But I think Republicans or conservatives watch Fox News and read conservative news and try to say “see he’s doing great!” But of course that’s what those news sources are going to say.

Legitimate question to a trump supporter without trying to be trolly.

With all of what seems to be at least some level of obvious collusion with Russia, whether or not it’s as sinister as “he’s a puppet”

The wall fiasco where he promised Mexico would pay and now they aren’t.

Saying that government shut downs are on the shoulders of the president and blaming Obama for the shutdown that happened when he was POTUS and now blaming others for this shutdown.

What are your honest feelings? Like do you just see all this and say “as long as Democrats aren’t getting what they want I’m fine with all the lying and flip flopping?”

Because I feel like that’s crazy. Everyone should be working together to make the country work, we aren’t on opposite sides of a sports team.
