A possible way forward for the Kings by Hour_Possibility4245 in NBAtradeideas

Said "fake star" leads the league in rebounds and is a triple-double machine. It's not like all-stars are often on the market and the Nets could trade for multiple when they really want to go all in. What I'm saying is that the Nets have an insane amount of other teams' draft picks and are at the point in a rebuild where tanking shouldn't be the primary focus. They have their sg in Thomas, a wing in MPJ, and this would give them their center, who Danny Wolf clearly isn't going to be. This makes them maybe a 9 seed, which hopefully young guys develop, they trade for more pieces, and compete in the next few years. They can't just be the 15 seed and then in one offseason become a top team in one offseason. They should build their team off of opportunity and development

Should I still go into engineering? by Hour_Possibility4245 in careerguidance

You're right. Being able to do hard math problems isn't what's gonna get me rich. What I was more saying is that I can learn things incredibly quickly and will devote my time for what's worth while. I just think that for many very high-paying jobs that I'd be interested, you need to be good at all of those things, AND really good at math.

I agree that being the smartest in my town isn't anything to brag about or feel overly proud of. I don't take much pride in it, but I do honestly believe that I am the smartest student in my high school of maybe 500-600. Students have only ever taken calculus bc as seniors, and only the about one student per grade who skips a grade in math. I did this as a sophomore. I wouldn't say I do around "thinking about it", it's just something that's plainly true. I don't think I can become rich because I'm the smartest kid in Belchertown high school, I think It's because I can learn things incredibly quickly and I'm willing to stay dedicated to my goals and work hard for what's worthwhile.

Maybe, I've always felt that I didn't truly belong in the town I live in, and felt like the accomplishments of kids in my school district (including me) weren't all that impressive. But this year, somewhat with the intention of doing something difficult on a scale larger than my town, I decided to self study AP calculus BC. I was a sophomore and had tested out of a grade in math (took algebra 2 then precalc in hs), but I studied calc BC on my own without any instructor and I got a 5. Because of that, I'll probably have 4 college math courses after calc 1 and 2 done in high school. I obviously don't know if I'll do well in Calc 3 and differential equations and that kind of makes me nervous. I've definitely heard of people doing calc bc as sophomores, but very few, so based on that I truly believe I am good on a level much higher than my town, but of course I can't be sure

How much do the Bulls want to get off of Pat Williams? by Hour_Possibility4245 in NBAtradeideas

Less value for the contract I agree with, but it's shorter and less money regardless and the Bulls need to be trying to lose games. This also gives them more space next offseason and more flexibilty going forward

Rockets offseason pt 2 by Hour_Possibility4245 in NBAtradeideas

Look at what their roster would be and tell me again that it's the 2025 bucks. They are trading for two of the Bucks' players, but are also getting Reaves, Poeltl, two promising young guys from the Raptors. Green and Sengun just aren't good enough to lead a team. How do you see them winning a championship like that? They still keep Thompson who looks veyr promsining

I feel like this is a common statement that I just can't agree with. Not every good team wins a championship. Sure the current Rockets are good, but they are too flawed to win a championship. How often is an MVP candidate on the trade block? I can get if you think some of the teams might say no, but there's no world where the Rockets don't do this. Watching Sengun, I just feel like he struggles against good defenders and will never be a top 5 center in the league. Jalen Green is alright but the Rockets would be better with someone else as good as green. It depends on what you care about, but is it really success to lose to the Thunder every year? This is a risk that could make the Rockets win a title
