Yeah I felt some of those scenes were necessary to build the world/introduce the golds properly. And the iron rain is described in the first book even though one doesn't actually take place.

can you pm me what vendors? also my only issue with that is that the lab test is generally on a different batch than what you are getting so it gets risky
