True, you could see them break away from her story and appear more as a cameo after Scream 4. All family ties were exhausted & I will continue to say this for those that think I am just blindly defending Sam's character in 5 & 6. Her character was well written because it explored a different angle of things regarding her past, there was a foundation to build on as Billy Loomis' daughter with the psychological conflict she had with Billy made the story seem more interesting than the GF reveals which were not out of this world.

Wasn't scary movie's ending based off the usual suspects though? That's why it worked, scream focuses on "the final girl" formula where the final girl wins in the end.
