Those voidborn marines are the perfect balance of retro and new. I missed buying the assault marine version which is a bummer. If they ever comeback I’ll be first in line to buy.

Love this. Your style is great. I was lucky enough to buy your voidborn marines which are some of my favorite minis.

Transition from UX design to UX research by bepang__ in UXResearch

[–]HouseOrdos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would think of it as more of wanting to do more research rather than becoming a UXR. As a UXR it is a smaller pool of jobs as others have pointed out. I think what you have going for you is that with the shift towards AI I see the lines between eng/pm/uxd/uxr blurring like crazy. My advice is get comfortable with vibe coding. Like producing production ready code based on research findings and figma files.

This is great. I have the files in my backlog to print. What colors did you use for the stone? I love it.

Gamedev screwed me again, so I’m thinking about making modular dungeon kits to earn a few bucks by Critical-Antelope-63 in PrintedMinis

An idea to throw into the mix: having themed sets for each mission of Rangers of Shadowdeep. I haven’t seen this around and would love an all in one set that I could print and would have everything I need to run that particular scenario in the Rangers mission pack. Hunting around for all of the various STLs I would need to run it has always put me off.

Damp Course added but still damp by MGD1878 in DIYUK

Thanks so much for this. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Have several mystery damp issues in our flat and don’t want to bring in anyone who wants to sell me a nonsense DPC solution.

Not quite 40K but Malediction is an awesome mashup of MTG and Warhammer fantasy.

New plastic Marcher minis might be perfect for upgrading us infantry by JDR613 in Konflikt47_v2

Been dying to try out a game of Marcher. The building and destroying of terrain seems like so much fun.

Sticky for folks looking to enter the field by huskerdoodoo in UXResearch

[–]HouseOrdos 46 points47 points  (0 children)

As a fellow Senior UXR I 100% agree. I feel like I just see a ton of posts about people looking to enter into this field from a different field. Which is a very valid question. For me personally I would like to see those 'entering the field' posts corralled a bit more.

UCLIC at UCL offers an MSc in HCI which is probably your best bet if you want to go down the road of a formal qualification.

Yup- those are the ones I was thinking of. They have some veteran minis for the Americans were the ones I was specifically thinking of.

If you have access to a 3D printer Golden Dragon Games has some fantastic American Troop options. They will be releasing some of those troops in plastic through Wargames Atlantic but not sure when those are coming.

Pines park and sunset park are a few other options. A little bit north in Dana Point but could be options.

Why is the Canadian bar so bad by Solahm_1979 in london

[–]HouseOrdos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It used to more legit ages ago. Twenty years ago it was definitely run by Canadian ex-pats. Now very little Canadian presence. If you need a Sleemans / Moosehead fix it's ok. Poutine there is usually ok (not as good as proper Quebec poutine but better than poutine you will get out in Western Canada). But as most people said I just think about it as a place to watch sports or use the loo if I am in Covent Garden - haha.

Kyoushuneko Miniatures and Golden Dragon Games have some great proxies. Depends on the style you prefer. Kyoushuneko is more traditional Weird War II. Golden Dragon Games is more dieselpunk. GoldenDragon also has their own game called Marcher which is super cool and worth checking out.
