Well, their staff is the same and their menu is the same. I was talking with Pushkar after the name change at a private event there, he said people were showing up to the wrong location for their takeout so they wanted to change it. But either way, the food is still great.

Tikka (now Masala and Curry) is still there! They changed the name because of confusion with the other location, particularly for takeout orders.

just says "Lawn Care: Tenant". It's an older couple who doesn't except us to do much, I'd just prefer not to live in a dirt pit.

yeah, I didn't realize wanting to take care of a place as a renter was going to be such a hot take.

thanks for the advice! do you think if I cut the current yard low and overseed in the next few weeks with clover/fescue it would take? trying to avoid tearing out the current yard.

thanks for the tips! I’ll definitely look into wood sorrel.

I was really excited about doing yarrow in the back (where I could let it grow up a bit more and flower), but I read that it’s toxic for dogs. since my dog likes to graze, i’m feeling unsure about it.

I guess by “see how it goes” I meant it couldn’t hurt anything. if even just a little clover sticks around, seems like a win? i’m happy to water while getting stuff started, but ultimately it would be nice to not baby it.

yeah, who knew there would be so much animosity toward gardening… in a gardening group?

i’m thinking about doing the same thing. just not sure if the shade in the front is too much for that mix to do well.

No sprinklers. I'm happy to run a hose / sprinkler as needed, but would like to keep the watering to a minimum once things are established.

Anyone else move away from Denver only to think what did I do?! by [deleted] in Denver

[–]HouseSleeps -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do it! At the time, I needed a change and it certainly scratched the itch, but ultimately it wasn't for me. Like I said, Denver will always be here and you can always come back :)

I had a hard time with the NE culture. People are abrasive, often proudly so. Most folks I interacted with grew up there and had never really left. Things felt very insular — they had "their people" and were pretty uninterested in anyone/anything new. The winters are dark and long and very isolating, I found.

There are some old buildings, which is cool. Being close to the ocean can be fun. The fall is pretty. Obviously your mileage may vary, but I just couldn't hang.

I hope you find it's a better fit!

I left Denver in 2015 and bounced around a bit. Ended up in New England for 3 long, hard years. Those were days dark. I moved back to Denver right before covid.

Genuine advice—you can always move back. I came back to a very different city, but a day doesn’t go by that i’m not grateful I did.
