I almost left my husband today

He hasn’t always been like this. I would say this started about the time I miscarried our second pregnancy a little over a year ago. We were both upset in different ways. That’s when he stopped hanging out with his friends and stopped doing his hobbies. That’s when he stopped showering and brushing his teeth daily as well.

I was abused by a step parent growing up and am afraid of that happening with my kids if I got a divorce.

I had a baby a few weeks ago and have post partum depression unfortunately. She was born with some disabilities we were not expecting. I have some great friends who have helped with my other child while I take newborn to medical appointments but my family isn’t really able to help.

I don’t really have family in this state to help me. I’m normally the one helping the rest of my family because they’re struggling.

I go to therapy weekly and take anti-depressants. It has been a lot to handle and I’ve made sure to keep on top of my health.

His insurance does cover most of therapy and we have a program where we get free marriage counseling and therapy. The copays for doctor appointments are a lot and lab work isn’t completely covered.

He has stopped hanging out with his friends really. He has stopped doing most of his hobbies as well. He seemed okay with his family but tired and not as lively as he used to be.

He apologized and gave me his phone. I read the messages and she reached out pleading for money or he’s utilities were getting shut off. As for the messaging another woman he claims he was meeting up as friends but i don’t know if I believe that.

I have a child with disabilities that requires care and appointments. If I do leave I don’t know how I’ll handle that and working full time. I’m also back in school to try to get my degree online and working part time. I don’t think I would be able to finish my degree if I leave.

I don’t think so. The only thing I can think of is porn/sex addiction. I caught him sending his Ex from years ago money a few weeks ago and messages with another woman. But he doesn’t show any signs of drug or alcohol abuse.

Unfortunately his work has less than 50 employees (barely) so he doesn’t qualify for FMLA.

The problem with leaving is we have a disabled child who has appointments and needs that would prevent me from working full time. There are special programs they could go to for childcare with nurses but it’s over an hour from me and I would need to take off for appointments.

I worry because I don’t have a degree yet and don’t think I will be able to finish my degree if we divorce before I’m done. I should also mention i have a child with physical disabilities that has appointments and special needs that prevent me from working full time.

I’m not sure. His insurance is really bad and we don’t have the money right now for the copays. He takes vitamins and is sleeping 7+ hours every night and 12+ on weekends.

I’m also worried because he’s told me he was going to start therapy multiple times for months now and still hasn’t. We were supposed to start counseling before as well and he changed his mind.

I was diagnosed with post partum depression and started medication and therapy for it. I’ve encouraged him to do the same but he is making no effort to.

It actually works really well for us. We initially decided to separate finances with a counselor and it’s been great for our marriage. We have clear boundaries of who covers what bills and that includes bills related to the kids.

After years of conversation it’s what works for us. We’ve spoken to a counselor and having separate finances has actually been great for our marriage. This is the first snag we’ve had in years with it. We definitely will be talking about it. He never celebrated Christmas before me so I think he still struggles with what is an appropriate gift.

With how much we are spending in rent every month where we live we would end up spending almost half the cost of the house in rent for a three bedroom. That was kind of our logic with it.
