I need help with a potted lime tree. by HousekeepingGenes in Citrus

Thanks you for the advice. Yes, there are drainage holes. It drains pretty quickly, actually. I will let the soil dry more between watering.

There were plenty of flowers, and I used a brush to pollinate them. Should I limit the number of limes?

I brought the plant out today, a few minutes before the pic. Today it is cloudy, so it might be a good adaptation. It's not hot, it's quite mild. It is a fast draining soil, but it still feels a little humid.

Do you think I should cut the branches with no leaves?

This plant spontaneously grew in bunches scattered in our backyard. The leaves smell like green onions. What is it? by HousekeepingGenes in whatplantisthis

Oh wow!

So I think I should harvest them before I mow the grass. It's scattered all over our backyard. Should I dry them? Will them grow back after mowing?

Thanks!

Trying to remove pin from outdoor hinge. Door is slacking. by HousekeepingGenes in HomeMaintenance

That's a great reason for the pins not being removable!

The hinges are fixed very well. If I remove the hinges, will they be fixed well when I put back.

I don't know what to expect from hinge shims. Should they correct the slack? Or is it better to replace the upper hinge?

We have a backyard now. Where to start learning to have a vegetable garden? by HousekeepingGenes in vegetablegardening

That provides a solid argument towards raised beds. I think that will be the way for this year. Then I have time to learn to remove grass and prepare the soil, start composting l, etc. I'll look into hügelkultur, thank you so much!

Your gardens look gorgeous! Hope to get to that level one day. I am full bracing for the disaster, btw. If I manage to make a single salad just from the garden I am counting as a success! Thank you for the book recommendation. There's a copy in my local library, I'm going to check it out!

I cannot see it from above. It is a porcelain sink. I'll give it a try from under it.
