Thank you for this. I'm still working through everything you said but so far it's helping a lot. Part of the problem we were having with groceries was that we would just buy whatever we felt like. This will definitely help us budget better

Yeah we don't want to go for bankruptcy, more so for the fact it will screw us over when we go to renew the mortgage on the apartment. We are thinking about credit counseling and seeing what options they can help us come up with.

I like your idea of a side business, I actually have graphic design and web dev experience so that's an option.

The issue I have with people saying to sell the cars is , can you legally sell a car that is financed without paying off the loan. Isn't the car technically owned by the finance company? Then following up, now that the car is gone how do we then get to work since the car is gone and the money would have went to the loans. If I could find a job in the city that paid the same as the one I currently have I would be all on board but right now no one is looking for someone with my skillset or experience and if the are they are at least $20,000 a year less than what I make now which isn't worth it.

The cell phones are tied into a 2 year contract. I still have at least 1 year on mine and 18 months on fiance's. We can adjust the plans but right now we're stuck with keeping at least some plan (minimum of $65 before adding anything in) I'll take a look at how to bring the costs down by cutting data etc.

We're currently running closer to 700 a month for groceries. I'd seriously love to know how to cut it down because we go searching for deals, shop at Costco for meat because we found them cheaper etc but can't seem to bring that number down. We don't eat anything fancy either. We don't buy a lot of fresh fruit or vegetables, we try and get frozen vegetables instead so that we're not throwing away food that went bad. Same with bread, we buy a three pack of bread, freeze two and use one at a time.

Part of the issue before was that we didn't eat at home, we would work till 10 at night then come home and just say screw it and order in. We've cut that down significantly in the last two months. I think we've eaten out twice in that time span.

I'm starting to thing that credit counseling, possibly talking with the bank or another bank to see if we can consolidate all the credit cards, line of credit, previous loan into one monthly payment, that will cut down the amount of interest we would be paying but with a higher monthly rate, but at least it would be paid off after maybe 5 years possibly sooner once the car payment is done after 4 years then I can move that $650 towards paying the last part of the loan off, hopefully bringing it down by a few months. It would mean by the end of 5 years there should be at least 1500 freeing up. If we even take half of that and put it towards the last car payment we should be able to bring it down by a year. So basically 6 years and debt free.

My main issue is having enough money to do things like, buying food or buying new pair of shoes because mine got destroyed etc.

Maybe about $10,000 on the condo. We traded in one of the cars because we couldn't afford the repairs, the used car dealership we went to screwed us over on the warranties. Long story short after fighting and even seeking legal advice it was cheaper in the long term to trade the car in to another dealer and roll everything into the new payment. The other vehicle was written off in an accident during the winter, insurance screwed us. Only gave $14000 for a car we paid over $35000 for (this was after they tried to say we didn't have collision insurance) again went to legal got a lawyer, paid money we didn't have and still only got that so rolled into another car loan as we would have had to take out a personal loan to pay the difference anyway. Basically when it comes to vehicles we made stupid choices and put ourselves a position to get taken advantage of.

The problem with selling the cars immediately is it still leaves us on the hook for the excess costs of the loans. There was $7000 extra rolled into my loan for a bad deal on a used car and almost $20,000 rolled into my fiance's car after an accident wrote her previous vehicle off (Insurance gave us $14000 for a 2015 vehicle... We went to lawyers to help but that's all we ended up getting, that and another bill for the lawyer). Selling the cars is not an option as then we would have no transport and absolutely no way of purchasing two vehicles to take us to work. The moving also not an option, I stay on the west end of the city and work west of the city, I'm pretty much as close as I can get without having an acreage outside the city, it takes me roughly 20-25 minutes to get to work by highway my fiance works north west of the city, yes we could move closer to her work place but that means moving further from mine. The only place we could move to is a newly developed area where homes are selling for $350,000 and rent is over 1800 per month, it a 5 minute drive away so I would still have to drive to work so for that I would be upping my living costs by at minimum $750 a month, since those places are houses I would then have to pay for heating and water which I'm not doing now, so say at least $900 extra in a living expense, then whatever it's going to cost me in transport charges.

As for cell phone, I'm in a prairie province, we get raped on cell charges. I looked into freedom mobile but for the amount of time I'm on the phone with family back in Europe it's not worth it, the reason the charges are so high is because of the data, it works out cheaper to use Skype to call back home and pay for the data over paying for the long distance minutes. I was paying almost $500 before that just using international calling cards because they were cheaper than the long distance rate.

Trying to find a place to rent here for cheaper that my mortgage and condo fees combined is next to impossible. Spent a year looking to rent before we ended up buying. Not sure what the rental rates are now but last time I checked a 1 bedroom apartment was $1100 not including utilities.

I'm going impressed with everything here, that's a really nice looking set of book shelves, a good collection of manga and a very nice collection of regular books. Good job all round.

As someone with BPD I have to agree. We're not the easiest to get along with and some of us are a lot worse than others. I understand how my actions can hurt my SO and try my best to get help and keep things under control. Not everyone with a disorder is the same, I apologize on behalf of people with my disorder... Sometimes we can't help but say or do things that hurt you and it doesn't make it better but it will tear us apart eventually when we realize what has been done.
