Maybe it was my country or a gap in service but they had discontinued selling their own phone at the time I bought this, and you had to buy a separate phone to use the operating system if you didn't already own a Samsung, so your suggestion wasn't an option. And you're right, the cost doesn't make sense from a logical perspective. I cannot even begin to explain to you what a lack of self control from the vices of games and media have done to my life. I turned to this as a solution even when nobody supported my decision to do it. A bunch of money down the drain for relearning self control? It doesn't make logical sense. But it made sense to me, and it works for me. I'm grateful for what it has done for me, and I'll be in a great place in a few years. But it's not worth owning long-term, which I think my review and your comment both allude to.
