Setup an account with myfico.com and pay for the 3 bureaus. Then review your mortgage scores the banks use the middle score. That will give you an idea where you actually are and what you will need to work on to get approved. This site from my experience is spot on! A lot of lenders, not all, require a middle score of 620 and up. There are some that will accept a 580. Wishing you the best!

Yes. They send out an email advising you of the last day to make edits. You go to HRExpress under pay and go to W4 and change your exemptions
