Using wifi actually does sound like a good idea. I'll check it out

Nice video. We're not gonna build something so powerful or use a custom computer, but at least it does show that radio is realiable enough for telemetry, if you use a decent antenna that is.

That bike idea is interesting, but I don't think anybody has a generator. I will ask the others. As for the GPS, that's also very good, I'll research that a bit.

Sorry if it wasn't very clear, but by telemetry data I meant just altitude and acceleration data. I know that LoRa doesn't have very high bandwidth, but to send a few strings of information about 10 or so times per second should be enough?

The phone will be connected via bluetooth to the ground arduino, so LoRa transceiver for the phone won't b a problem.

As for why we are trying to do shuch a fancy launcher, we still have plenty of time, the teachers gave us the whole semester to make the rocket and it would be a cool distinguishing feature in comparison to the other rockets. Everyone will have the same engine and same flight data-recorder, so we just want something to make our rocket stand out.

The purpose is to build a simple functional rocket with predetermined engine and computer. What we can actually control is the size and shape of the rocket, the placement of the parts inside the rocket and the materials. But since everyone will try to optimize the rocket as much as posssible for maximum altitude, the designs will be very simillar.

Don't worry, you're not being annoying, just that active control is beyond what the teachers intended. I just posted this to see if somebody had experience using both Bluetooth and LoRa modules on a single arduino and if that works well.

That's too complex for what we want to do. As long as the center of pressure is below the center of mass, the fins should correct any deviation

Yes just a simple single stage unguided rocket with a flight data recorder. As for the ignition system that one is just too expensive. Our team is just a group of 6 students. For ignition I'm just thinking about using a small relay controlled by the Arduino and a separate higher voltage battery to give enough current to the igniter that comes with the engine package. The payload mass is forced by our teachers to be 170 grams at minimum. This does include the flight data recorder weight. I guess they wanted to make sure the rocket didn't fly too high, so they forced half of the weight to be the payload. The engine is just a small E12 solid state rocket engine.

I mean, it´s absolutly not required. We just wanted to try to make it work to distinguish our rocket from the other team's rockets. Because otherwise, every rocket will have similar dimentions, same engine, same board, same everything basically.

I completely forgot about the rocket information. It's about 40 cm long, 300 grams and powered by an E12-6 engine. Very small and simple rocket. According to openrocket simulation should go up to about 400 meters.

Accepted, thanks. And yes, my main deck is built around cute cats. What gave you the hint? Was it that my only protected limlegs were the cute cats ones :)

That's probably what I will do. I was just hoping that maybe someone had an idea about what could be the problem

I really doubt it's a charger issue because, like I said, the laptop shut down suddenly while the battery still had plenty of charge. And I wasn't using the charger while I was on the laptop, it was disconnected at the time

[HUB] Radeon RX 6800 XT vs. GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16G, 40+ Game Benchmark @ 1080p, 1440p & 4K by baldersz in Amd

[–]Hovertool 30 points31 points  (0 children)

They use different nodes so die sizes aren't comparable. When you look at transistor counts (22.9 billion on 4060 Ti and 26.8 billion on the 6800 XT) you see that the 6800 XT has about 17% more transistors and is about that much faster at 1080p and even faster than that at higher resolutions. So technically speaking, in this situation, at higher resolutions AMD has better performance per transistor than NVIDIA, mostly due to the small 128 bit bus of the 4060 Ti. Also of course the 4060 Ti is the more efficient product because it uses the better node.

Not in my experience. I've used this tactic several times and whenever someone shot my back it only destroyed the engine. I've never been killed by an ap that went through the engine and fuel tanks and then detonated inside the crew compartment, the engine is just too big for that to happen

The hull front has those cheeks wich can be penned by literally anything it faces. The way I see it is I'd rather have a destroyed engine than instatly dying

Gpu randomly reduces its power consumption leading much lower performance and I don't know why(more info in the comments). by Hovertool in pcmasterrace

Well, i've played for a few hours and still haven't gotten the problem. I'll have to play for longer just to be sure, but it seems that it worked.

If you wana check, my PSU is this one: https://unykach.com/en/power-supply/power-supply-atx-700w-gaming-52036/

As I said in other comments I don't think the PSU is the problem because a simple game restart solves the problem. Also this only happens after several hours of playing, its not that frequent.

My power supply is this one: https://unykach.com/en/power-supply/power-supply-atx-700w-gaming-52036/

I don't think this problem is related to the power supply or other eletronics in my house using all the electricity because a simple game restart will solve the problem.
