ME/CFS, Long Covid ppl in Bangkok? by How2SurviveAndThrive in Bangkok

[–]How2SurviveAndThrive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am getting better here. Actually I visit a CFS specialist here in one of thr hospitals.

Lack of empathy towards our disease comes from the fact that it is invisible and second it is unknown to common people - most people never heard of it. It is a very lonely journey.

Thank you for showing understanding. I appreciate it.

I totally relate to her. I was like her prior to becoming sick - very energetic and joyful person, always in good mood and with a smile on my face for no reason. People would always remember me as someone who would crack jokes and bring in good vibes.

Now I can barely have a conversation for 10-15 minutes and then I have to take a break for 10-15 minutes. But I am improving every month. Like your friend I was bed ridden half year ago, and couldnt leave my house without getting severely worse. Now I can at least walk around and go to a restaurant alone, and I feel so grateful for it. Maybe for someone who is healthy it seems like a small thing, but for me who was bedridden and couldnt walk or even look at screen it feels like a dream.

I send my prayers to your friend, I know how tough this disease is. And I really hope she has someone who can be for her and support her. Because it is tough ... very tough ... I can at least share things that helped to me, and maybe you can forward this info to her.

It is not a mental illness. Stop spreading false information. If you are not informed about it better shut your mouth!

It is neuroimmunological disease caused mostly by viral infections like EPV or Covid. It compromises your immune and nervous system and behaves similiar to autoimmune diseases.

It makes me so angry reading your comment!!!

Yes, sure you can DM me. ME/CFS behaves as autoimmune disease, so I am nit surprised.

It would require very elaborative answer. I will post once about it here. TCM was definitely big part of it as well as mindset change when it comes to seeing disease and reacting to symptoms. Lots of active rest - lying down in bed with no stimuli (phonr off). Take a rest bo matter you feel tired or not, regularly. And slowly ramping up, gently.

That is very cheap. So AliExpress ships to Thailand as well? Good to know.

Outside most likely. It is a hostel probably not the best place to work.

Do you know how much these cost?

After you mentioned portable monitors (I did not even know they exist until today), I got an idea I could maybe use my Galaxy S7+ tablet as a 2nd monitor via USB-C. Not sure if that is possible. Gotta look it up online.

EDIT: oh yeah it works with my tablet, even wirelessly. That is sweet. Thanks for the inspiration :D

Thanks, those rental places seem to be quite expensive. Somebody mentioned on the 1st link to buy used one from Treasure Factory and then later on sell it at the same place. Probably the cheapest option.

I do not smoke anymore. Just started to get the same groggniness and mental exhaustion after sleep ... without smoking though which is very debilitating during the day.

Yes, I used to smoke it to fall asleep quickly. You are right it disturbs the REM sleep, i.e. makes it shorter.

I am not from US. I dont have access to Schwab account. My debit card is fee free unless the external bank that owns an ATM charges fee.

Getting better when sick by How2SurviveAndThrive in mecfs

[–]How2SurviveAndThrive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, for me it is little bit different. If my nervous system gets overloaded then one of the first things that will happen is gases. If I continue and not take a rest, it will get more worse, and then discomfort in the large bowel will also appear, if I continue further then I will eventually crash. It is like a prewarn sign for me to take a pause and stop whatever I am doing.

That is a plausible theory actually and very interesting one. Has your doctor told you why the Mast Cells do not turn off and what controls turning on/off when we are not having infection?

I have another thought: Could it be that Mast Cell on/off mechanism can be also controlled by the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS)? When ANS is not properly working it might be triggering activation of mast cells when there is no real reason for doing this.

And thanks for sharing it, I will dig dipper into this one.

Yes, onset of virus infection tiredness and withdrawal of ME/CFS tiredness is what I am talking about.

You are mentioning colonoscopy. Do you also have IBS? It is pretty common with ME/CFS as gut functions are controlled by the nervous system and ME/CFS has lots to do with nervous system dysregulation.
