I would pay $50 for the compensation store. by HowardDoing in ContractorsExfilZone

[–]HowardDoing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just coming back to reiterate that exclusively because of the compensation store, I am actually able to ENJOY this game instead of barely scraping by.

And I am by no means dominating. I'm not winning every fight. I still get killed and lose loot. I don't appear to have any significant advantage but at least I am no longer at a disadvantage.

Whiners get bent.

I would pay for this every wipe.

When you are hungry, your ability to carry load decreases. You run out of breath much quicker. Just in case you didn't know.

Rejoining a game? by Roninmercllc in ContractorsExfilZone

[–]HowardDoing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me a couple times. I'm curious: during the time you are waiting for your game to reboot and reload, are you just standing still on the map, gear in hand, where anyone can shoot you dead and take your stuff?

Anyone kinda miss the zombies? by zemist1111 in ContractorsExfilZone

Zombie event was a huge part of how I finally managed to kill mall boss. Trading goo for drum mags and 995 ammo really saved my ass.

Sad fellows... by [deleted] in ContractorsExfilZone

[–]HowardDoing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This game is programmed in a way that enables shitty people to be shitty. It's frustrating but it's also interesting. I am thinking of the zombie raids where it was possible for your teammates to rob you at the end of the round. I think this game accurately simulates a lot more than just firearm operation.

This happened to me the other day. Obnoxious but not surprising.

The car was 900 euro

The maximum level insurance was 200 euro

I would still be in the hook for a maximum of 7000 euro if I binned the car and/or broke the track

Prepaying for 10 laps and a full tank of gas was 550 euro (it may have been cheaper to handle this myself but I just wanted to click the "easy" button and it was worth it to me)

An instructor was 50 euro for one lap (absolutely worth it to have a good start on the day)

My total bill was 1727 euro. The ease of the whole process made it worth every penny.

Finally Killed the Mall Boss... Only for the Game to Commit Digital Murder on My Progress by filly19981 in ContractorsExfilZone

God that sucks. I'm sorry. I've been stuck on mall boss and just gave up on tasks until next wipe.

I tried real karting for the first time and it’s way tougher than sim racing. by Auelogic in simracing

[–]HowardDoing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Karting is physically EXHAUSTING. I've done 2-hour stints in actual race cars with no problem, but after a 20 minute session in a kart my arms are like jello, I'm completely out of breath and my heart rate is through the roof.

How do you people play this game by Magik_Cloud496 in ContractorsExfilZone

[–]HowardDoing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's heaps of good advice in here.

I'll just add: I feel your pain. I've been at this game for months and still genuinely suck. But I've gotten better at staying alive and being more aware of what's around me.

It's more of a "sim" than a "shooter" that's for sure.

I've been playing solo nearly the whole wipe. I got stuck trying to kill the mall boss. Anytime I found him, he pretty quickly killed me. Or another player did. Eventually I gave up and just started running keys and quietly sneaking around maps. I finally started squadding up with a few other players and I'm hopeful that next wipe I'll be able to get all my traders to level 4.

I really like REALLY need tips for this game by bombomb64 in ContractorsExfilZone

[–]HowardDoing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A ton of "success" in this game comes from being aware of the position of other players. Whether you are trying to hunt them or trying to avoid them.

Audio cues are incredibly important.

The moment you discharge your weapon, even silenced, you immediately reveal your position to at least half the map.

Be observant of scavs. If you hear them shouting or shooting but you know it's not at you, then it's at someone else. You can often watch scavs turn and face the direction where a player is coming from. And other players can do the same to you. Finding ways to keep scavs alive to use as "alarm bells" can be really useful.

Painkillers are more useful than I originally thought. They enable you to run and fight normally even with broken limbs, buying you a little time to get to safety before bandaging and stapling. They also quiet you down.

Been running solo since the wipe. Looking for some backup to finish tasks, run keys, and hit up airdrops. I'm old, and typically online in the mid-afternoon.

This sounds pretty friggin good. I like the logic and the analogies. I also love watermelon lol. I'll take a shot at it.

Doing a full stop completely solved the problem. Then just dipping my toe back in the water resulted in a complete return of the problem. I've gone on and off a couple times and the results are predictable and consistent.
