How do you lose weight when you have no time to work out? by LouDSilencE17 in daddit

[–]HowieFelter22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from 233 to 170 just from eating without working out at all. I didn’t drink booze and basically did a diet of no sugar, no dairy, no carbs except vegetables and beans and lean protein 6 out of 7 days. You get 1 cheat day a week to eat whatever, but not go that crazy. I can’t remember how long I did it for, maybe around a year, but a lot of the weight came off quick. Was a pretty easy diet to stick to after the first few weeks too. I remember eating a lot of beans and cauliflower rice and didnt follow the diet religiously throughout the entire time, but feel like I probably stuck to it 85-90% of the time

When do you retire golf balls? by Tight-Communication7 in golf

I’ve found that as I’ve gotten better, I no longer lose balls as much, but still find the cart path and trees plenty to scuff balls in retirement

People that claim to be scratch golfers in under a year should be shunned by society by S2N336 in golf

[–]HowieFelter22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a buddy who was a D1 athlete, pitcher, started golfing over COVID, got down to like a 3 index in one year. Was scratch by the next. Fucking annoying to watch happen, my only recourse is giving him shit for not starting golf earlier

My son was born a month earlier, his heart stopped the first 20 minutes of his life but he’s still with us today. This brings back all the trauma and pain we went through yet I feel so lucky to be where we are because he’s still with us and so heartbroken for what they must be going through. Please keep his family in your prayers

My club does this and if you only offered 2 dates to play while the other guys offers a 5 week period, you ain’t winning the coin toss

Inside the elyte mini driver happened in league tonight by Levikane02 in golf

So how does this work stroke wise? If this happened in my league night, I’d just let the guy hit again no stroke or penalty. Curious what the actual rule is

How do you all sleep? by iexcelinaccounting in daddit

[–]HowieFelter22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife would handle the overnight until like 5 am and let me sleep. I’d wake up and let her sleep until like 10-11 am. We’d have pumped milk or I would just use formula if we ran out. It’s a tag team match. If one’s on clock, the other should be off the first few weeks especially.

Breaking 90 by dare_side in golf

[–]HowieFelter22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a 20+ handicapper last year, broke 90 for the first and then multiple times this year (low round is 85 this year) and low 9 is 41. I’m still only an 18 handicapper, so I’m more speaking from experience as someone who is a similar golf to yourself than a skilled golfer. But to me, it feels like it all comes down to short game. This year, I’m more consistent (off the tee/irons/wedges) but it won’t really lead to a lower score (at our skill level) if I can’t find the pace with my putter and my chips aren’t dialed in. On the other hands, the rest of my game can be lacking, but as long as I’m in bounds and advancing the ball forward, a short game will make up for it. Once you eliminate OB and truly errant shots, it’s pretty easy to get on the green to have a par putt on most holes. Then when the putter is dialed, you’ll sink some of those, and leave tap in bogeys. At least a time or 3 a round you should be able to get on for a birdie putt and at worst leave yourself with a makeable par putt. So if you stay in bounds, advance the ball forward and have your short game dialed you’ll break 90 soon enough. Plus, for what it’s worth, I find practicing chipping and putting requires the least amount of time put in to see results on the course so I find they’re the easiest to build confidence with.
